No full-screen rly?

NafunieruNafunieru Member UncommonPosts: 152

Look I know I don't have the best rig out there, and this machine is about 2 yrs old, but I've been able to run every game I've tried thus far quite well (on various settings). This includes trying out Crysis on this same machine. Running the benchmark tool and looking over the recommend requirements for FFXIV, I knew I wasn't going to have great performance on my machine, but to not be able to run in full-screen mode is quite ridiculous for a game today.

I've tried disabling my second display, running on my native resolution, different resolutions, and they all lead to the same result, a black screen that locks up the game client. I can play the game just fine in windowed mode, but any attempt at fullscreen causes a black screen. Anyone else experience this issue and/or have a solution for running the game in fullscreen mode?

The game is supposedly going to be more stable at launch. This is just the beta client which is kinda intense. Or so they say.

    Try lowering your buffer size?

Not sure what machine you are running, but I'd guess that'd fix it.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

need to go into FF config.

Start --> programmes --> Square Enix---> Final Fantasy 14 Beta

Should be two things Final Fantasy 14 Beta Version and Final Fantasy 14 beta version config. If it appears in japenese, just hit the scroll down bar to select english etc.

Select General and go to video settings

    I'm running:

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 @ 2.66GHz

    4GB DDR2-800mhz RAM

    1GB GeForce 9800GT (Forceware 258.96)

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

    Currently up-to-date with my drivers.

I've tried the suggestions on this thread and still have not fixed the issue.
