Sorry, but it is too hilarious!!!!

There are operative pirate servers running wow beta's!!!! Google it!

Blizzard is really good on security :)

    There are private servers for most popular MMOs. And with dedicated community like blizzhackers.com it's no wonder that they have finally written up half-assed pseudo-servers. I sincerely doubt there's even one server which can run the game like it's on the live servers.
    I have a friend who's quite cheap and he tried one of those, I saw it and all I can say... no, these aren't anywhere near real servers. All they've managed to do is to allow characters walk on empty world. Really wow...

    Unless there was a leak of code of real servers, don't bring us that useless info. Maybe you should start googling for servers for other MMOs and start making threads in another boards. I'm sure people will be praising you for such a 'wonderful' discovery... ::::12::

    I'm not too sure. Except that suposedly the beta source code was leaked and now its on private servers which means that people are playing the game for free. I don't think its a big deal. If your playing a mmorpg that is p2p on a private server it can't compare to the experience you get actually playing on a real server.

    Those servers will never last long. You need a lot of people playing there and since most of those servers have around 50 players spread out all around the world I doubt you can do much there. It would be practicaly impossible to find a group to do instances or anything major, plus, youd have to have a lot of computer power to run ALL zones with all the critters.

    I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

    Like I said before, playing on a private server is nothing compared to the game-play on an actual server.

    MMO's are server sided, playing on a free server is nothing like playing on offical servers

    Also, most have been hunted down avidly by Blizzard in the past. If one becomes popular, you can bet the owners will be intimidated by the Blizzard lawyers.

    Don't be so sure, Blizzard isn't doing that great with their servers. Maybe they should hire some of these guys.

    There are people out there who have money who can just dedicate a whole server computer, with a dedicated t1-3 line run in just to help the ppl who dont want to pay 15 a month to play a game

    Haha, clueless moron.

    It's funny that some people still think that anyone is capable to write their own server software which could run WoW even in a fraction of quality the live server are. It's true the Blizzard arevers aren't perfect, but dumb people jump into even sillier conclusions.

    Running that kind of sevrer takes much more time and effort that one may think. I saw one of the current private 'servers', all they can do is run in mostly empty world, whack an occasional mob which is stuck somewhere and use one or two abilities that actually work. All other stuff is bugged/doesn't work. It didn't take long for my friend to buy the game and screw that crap.

    Maybe in a few years that 'servers' will allow to play in a still very limited way, but now these just don't work.

    I agree... Nothing beats the feeling of waiting on a queue to play the game.  Can't forget the lag or even the best part, live servers are down.  It gives you time to do other stuff, LIKE play other worthwhile games.

    You cant really blame for this, this just happens.

     

    Personally, I would love to run a "private" server, just to check out the high level instances and form strategy :)

    Yeah I imagine this would appeal to many people. I know back in the day when people were running UO servers it was fun to check them out to see what people would come up with. It's just a matter of time before people have private servers running smoothly with custom content. This is really not too surprising considering it's a Blizzard product, which means it has a HUGE fanbase of hackers coming over from battle.net. I wonder if this will mean other MMORPGs will start to get more attention from the various b-net hackers. I can just see people start making Earth & Beyond and other small MMORPG server emulators.

    As for the Earth & Beyond privates servers, I will bow down and praise anyone/any company that would setup a server for that game of SUBLIME. Nothing will ever top that game, ever.
