Hello folks, anyone here who uses Deviant Art?
If so, I've made myself a Anti-WoW group although I'm not sure now if it's something that is going to be ignored, is a bad idea in general or will get the members, I just don't know?
Comments
I don't get it, why is everybody supporting WoW? It don't deserve to be the most played game in the world.
its the best MMO ive ever played, and ive played them all
People like it, you don't ..... why obsess about it? If you don't like it, play antoehr game since there are more that you would prefer and leave it at that?
I've played them all and it is not even close to the best.
I also don't ever have the desire to make "anti" groups. If I don't like something I'd rather be done with it then go through the trouble of making a group to specifically show how much I don't like it. Too much effort for something I don't care about in the first place.
Like posting on a forum about a topic that you'd rather be done about?
Something you left out No biggy.
If people can protest a mosque in new york city, as dumb as that is, you are well within your rights to do that. Dissent is patriotism. Don't ever forget that. Don't let people tell you, that you don't like MMO's because you don't like WoW.
You need to find a better hobby or something more fun to do with your free time. Getting so worked up over a video game is really sad. Unless Blizzard punched your babis please there is no reason for so much anger.
90% of haters are begging for love. 10% just want a little attention -- Paulo Coelho
Ok, ok, I'll get rid of it, although you still get Anti-Twilight groups on there.
Creating an anti-WoW group isn't going to change that. People either like it, or they don't. Alot of people like it. Good for them.
You know I have heard believing that you played them all. I been playing MMOs since Meridian 59 came out and tried a lot of games, shorter and longer time. I am not even close to played them all, there is just so many (check the game list on this forum).
I do believe you think Wow is the best you played however but that is just a matter of taste. It is far from the best for me, but as I said, taste.
However creating an anti Wow group seems not like a great idea to me. If you don't like Wow, play something else instead. If a computer game bothers you so much you need to start a group against it you might consider getting a life instead or join a group against something like really matters, WAR, famine or similar.
He said it was the best MMO he'd ever played...NOT AN OPINION. To him, having played the game, that was a fact. Now, if he'd said something to the effect "WoW is the best MMO ever created"......now that's an opinion.
You sound like one of those EQ1 fans, EQ1 sucks, yea thats right I said it. The people were rude as hell, raiding was not instanced so raiding was rude as hell, and grouping was greed before need. WoW>EQ1.
Your "Anti-WoW" Group will draw more attention to WoW, so go ahead.
So any sort of manifesto for this 'Anti WoW grouping'? I might be in if there is dressing up involved.
LOTRO>Vindictus>Sword 2>DDO>WoW>EQ1 How's that for some...let us see which games are better...pfft...come on! Who cares.
Sorry my bad, i wasn't thinking.
Wow being the best game out there is all in the opinion of the gamer. I have played many MMOs, im sure not all of them but most. EQ1 and 2, Runescape, Warhammer, Lord of the Rings, Aion, Perfect World, Runes of Magic, etc u get the picture. Everyone can bash the hell out of Wow, and it may not be the most innovative game on the market but when Blizzard impliments something in game its been polished to a shine in most cases. Whether its 5-11 million subscribers, hell i dont know the exact player base but its beating the hell out of the competition and F2P game registrations are not PAYING subscribers. Don't matter if they play it but if they dont spend any money on the game the developers dont care about ur opinion ur just there taking up space. Until a game can come up with the Paying customer base Wow has none of them stand a chance and dont cite the Asian market cause most of those game are a dime a dozen and most of those games are the same thing with different skins and cash shops and over here in the Western World we dont need to have that shit shoved down our throats and told how much fun it is to bash lil mob creatures all day in the name of mind numbing useless timesinks. All in all if u dont like it fine, go do something else, im in no way a fanboy of the series and if something better comes along i will play. Spread ur hatred somewhere else cause the Wow bashing while secretly playing ur Blood Elf Pally is getting old.
Applications for MMO guilds??? Sorry not that pathetic just yet
I seriously doubt that.
Where is the RvR, the proper crafting or economy in WoW, where's the player housing? Where is the customizable armor? Where is the naval combat? Where are the massive 100 man raids? Things that have been standards in the industry since 2001 and Wow STILL doesn't have them.
Haha, while I understand your cause, it would probably be a waste of time to form this group. World of Warcraft is popular because it caters to the casual gaming crowd who don't have the aptitude to play video games. On top of that, it's just well-made and properly funded.
Activision will destroy this game, though. They have already begun.
And the anti-Twilight ranters are just as idiotic as the pro-Twilight fangirlz.
yet it is kicking the shit out of all the games that DO have all those things.
but wait, it must be because everyone who plays is a simpering idiot who needs everything dumbed down. they just dont have the towering intellectual magnitude required to play a 'true' mmo?...right?
I'm sorry...but I wasn't aware that having a larger sub number makes the game any better. Yeah the game is well put together, but what Garvon3 said is head on...he's right. Not to mention one of the biggest reasons WoW has such a big sub count is because of all the people who tell their friends and so on, it's also advertised massively, and there are quite a bit of people who only play it because their friends play it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that those things make the game any worse or better, I'm just pointing it out. Once a game has a high enough sub count, it's going to be pretty hard for it to decrease (unless something extreme happens). Like I said before, sub count doesn't make a game, the content makes the game, which I think is what Garvon3 was getting at.
By all means go ahead. You aren't wrong for making an anti-WoW group. But how it is designed may change whats right to whats wrong.
Most people these days think of Warcraft as the best MMO out there where, in actuality, other games surpass it just as it surpasses other games. There really is no "Best Game." Warcraft got tons of population due to social advertising, appearance in game conventions, Blizzcon (Hence, Diablo and other games also contributed to its popularity.), and its updates.
Tons of new players also came when Warcraft aired in the South Park show "Make Love, Not Warcraft", a Simpsons show where Marge played an MMO and got addicted, and tons came once again when Mr. T, "Mini-Me", and William Shatner AKA Captain Kirk were involved in their commercials.
The game also attracted the PvPers in Burning Crusade, where people thought patch 2.4 was the best it could possibly get, and they actually made new players stay in the game with the release of WotLK. People anxious to play Death Knights would level up their characters to level 55, play a dk, not bother getting their 55 char up when they have a 58 one, and thus level up their Death Knight to 80 then in the future spend more time leveling their original character to 80.
As for the player community, that I cannot answer. But it seems to have grown very childish again (World of Roguecraft was a funny way of discussing the community at times too.)
And I guess people saying about other MMOs "They got this from WoW" also contributed, cause there are people who believe that Warcraft is like the starter of MMOs, so they head to play it. Warcraft is among the few games where there are articles about gamers playing themselves to death from addiction, though I won't get into it.
I have read your recent other post on this forum.
You recently tried to get back into WoW, trying to have your items restored on an account that was hacked a couple of months ago.
Blizzard was unable to give you all your items back. You now somehow hold a grudge against Blizzard.
This is the source of your WoW hate? If so, then the answer to your queston is no. I'ts not the right thing to do. The right thing to do is to get on with your life and stop obsessing over WoW.
Edit: post I'm referring to: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/288514/Blizzard-maybe-unable-to-help-me-restore-stolen-items-and-gold.html
To me this does not sound like someone who hates the game, it looks more like you are sad that you lost your wealth and that this is where your sudden hate comes from.
If you don't like WoW, thats fine. But it's hypocrite to play and enjoy it for a few years and then when your burnt out with it go on a hate tangent.
