What have i seen so far..

1 There is combat

2 There is quests

3 There is classes

4 There is platforming

5 There is building puzzles

6 There is building your own house/palace/zone/car/spaceship

7 There is mini games (racing)

8 There is pets

But will it be deep and involving?   There is nothing known about a combat system, i don't expect much from this.

Tough i think the possibillity to actually destroy things and build things is exciting and new to MMO's. But to capture the attention of older kids and grown ups it needs to be more...  There is hardly anything known about the underlaying mechanisme's of this game like the combat system.

So what can we expect?

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

Just remember that what you see is the start, not the end. This is not WoW this is LEGO universe.

Deep and involving, do you Like building with LEGO bricks? If yes, then you are on the right path. Want to make them come alive, ohh yes.  If you just want to go out and slay another 10 monsters, then not so much. The grind is very limited.

    Have fun !

Based on the videos they've show, if you've ever played a Traveller's Tales LEGO game, that's probably as deep as things will get.

Remember, the target audience is children, not adults, so it has to be easy enough for like a 6-8yr old to play it.

I wouldn't expect there to ever be something like "LEGO Master Builder Only" grade content or anything that puts massive imposed requirements of knowledge/skill onto the player. It's the very definition of a Kids-game MMO.

    Lets Push Things Forward

I knew I would live to design games at age 7, issue 5 of Nintendo Power.

Support games with subs when you believe in their potential, even in spite of their flaws.

I played in the first few weeks of the closed beta and ehm.. hm well I'm not really impressed.

My favorite games are the ones where you can be creative and such, but pretty much all building stuff was alraidy figured out.

So I tried building myself a house once I collected some bricks. I don't know how it's now but the gameplay for free building sucked soo bad that I actually quitted the beta, threw the game off my hard drive and threw a bucked of water through my pc.

But really i played while they were still developing so don't be all demoted because of my depressing thoughts :S Overall the game is pretty cool.
