Yes! It's soooo "next generation" that the game's engine is based on DX 9.0c API (FYI, video cards with DX9.0c support were initially released more than 3 years ago)!!!111

P.S: I just love all the random assumptions the fanbots come up with when trying to justify the existing issues in the beta version... So much entertainment image

That means nothin since ps3 doesnt use DX to beging with, so using a dx9 aproach is only understandable, they are trying to do both, or do you really like to go and say ps games are bad becouse they dont use DX and instead a form of OpenGL?.

Let me refrase that, The game is done for next generations pc ON PAR with ps3 gaming.

Hmm, weird I play Metro 2033 on highest settings on 20 fps and still don't have any mouse problems, must be a bug.

Are you really comparing a shooter  that was released on 2010 with a MMORPG that was started to being developed when there wasnt even DX10 to beging with that is currently using software mouse on a beta ?

    Walks away slowly,

    Once again,

    /eaction "FacePalm"

And this is exactly what I'm trying to say. No matter of the game graphics, directx or whatever, hardware mouse is one of the most basic options for a game, I can't really remember the last game I played that had such frustrating mouse problems even in a beta.

    Good day, sir.

All that walking and runing infront of your kinect-like device will at least help you stay fit !

(on a side note, I am dying to see a mouse that need the usb3 bandwidth :)

Yea, and is exactly what i said in the op, i have no idea why they would do so when they actually have it on the client but just turned off. Beats me the way SE works lol.It actually works like it should when you enable it, but you have to reaply it everytime theres a new patch. Is there , so it will be at release . Why they dont have it on beta? , hell if i know.

Good night  to you to ^^,(is almost midnight here)

A fair review with some minor exceptions. Facts by any other name is facts:

    1. The downloader SE has is a complete mess, works only for 50% of the player base.Gets stuck a lot and have to restart. This a pretty heavy statement in accordance with the number of players wlho have attempted to play the game and until reference can be provided can only be considered opinion/experince/possibility. While I agree to your opinion regarding the downloader, I do not expect to put hours into jumping through hoops in order to get a download of a game. I certainly hope things are better at launch.

    2. Opening Movies. Stunnig, Beautifull and Inmersing. Not much else to say apart that the voice acting is ,, weird. Again, a matter of opinion as I may not experince the same results.

    3. Making Macro's for hours, excluding leaning to do so, certainly is a game breaker for many who play pc games with M/K for years.

    4. "at least with max settings, on low or normal a very cheap pc can run it perfectly" A little confused here regarding the term "cheap" leaving me unclear if I want to even attempt to install. Cheap as what? The $50. MAC my kid bught online?

    5. Will it be ready/smooth at release? One of two possibilities comes with this statement; A. They are aware that it is not ready yet, they are going to release the game effecting those interested in a negative manner. B. My favorite excuse "its beta" and the release will not have any problems because they will sprinkle a touch of love dust on it."

Other than those minor problems I enjoyed the review and know that the swartz will be with all FF players at release.

Thanks for the corrections , but i dont think i was telling anyone to "put up with this " or "play it like it is ", no no, what i was trying to be as neutral as posible when i said facts (besides the opening movie thin, comon you really didnt enjoy the limsa one with the leviathan jumping over the ship?)then followed by my opinion. People are free to debate how they like , and like i said about macros , is the way the game works around atm, and is what i think is a fix to make thins easier. If you dont like the way it is well, like i said you have been warned.

On a side note , i think people will get what they see, with the normal fixes to the more basic thins affecting the game right now (lag), saying is just a beta is not valid for other thins right now, so ill stand to say there wont be a smoth release.Even then you have to look at the big picture and start at release, or wait until is polished by many small fixes just like they did with ffxi.Or not give them a chance at all. The choice is yours after all.

edit ;#4 i bought a pc at PCworld for my wyfe to play it for 300 and added it a nvidia 240 for 100  and it runs perfectly on normal setting. 400 euros to play a game like this on normal settings is  cheap anyway you look at it.You could even get it cheaper if you savage old pc parts , there are guides somewere on how to make a 500 dollars pc that runs FFXIV fine, just use google , you will find it.

Yea i changed the OP to IMO on this aspect, i myself i made a char on every starting area just to learn a bit of the lore of each city you start with , i have to say the limsa one is the best 1.

That beign said i wont start in limsa on release, becouse i cant stand pirate talk. YAR!

They have specifically said that they are holding back major story lines and other content. Just because they don't let a bunch of unexperienced beta testers who got drawn out of a hat test something, doesn't mean it hasn't been tested. You think a huge company like SE doesn't have their own group of game testers / QA team?

They have said they are holding back on the full story arc, not other content since the end of closed beta.

Prove its just the main story they are holding back on.

I big part of any beta is tester feedback.  Its often what turns a dull alpha into a good game.  That's where SE are failing, they are in a rut and simply ignoring most of the complaints, and half heartedly addressing show stoppers.

What they are doing is focusing on what would be single player aspects (ie. the story arc), and forgetting they are making a MMO.

Grapevine go and read the Beta Guide and stop trolling every FF post, we clearly get that you are so against positivity about people actually interested in the game, so we should not see you here again, cya!

    * Beta version contains only a fraction of what is planned in the full version.

During the Beta Test phase, there will be a total of eighteen types of arms and tools available: five types for Disciples of War, two types for Disciples of Magic, three types for Disciples of the Land, and eight types for Disciples of the Hand.

I will give you those 2 for free.

Core i5 13600KF,  BeQuiet Pure Loop FX 360, 32gb DDR5-6000 XPG, WD SN850 NVMe ,PNY 3090 XLR8, Asus Prime Z790-A, Lian-Li O11 PCMR case (limited ed 1045/2000), 32" LG Ultragear 4k Monitor, Logitech G560 LightSync Sound, Razer Deathadder V2 and Razer Blackwidow V3 Keyboard

Its again the exact same setup as FFXI : 3 cities to start from with each their own low level area, quests and differant story lines.

Just for info, in FFXI, the base storylines for each cities is made of around 20 quests each... and thats just what was in the game at original release. Now it has at least 4 more story lines that are each a lot longer as well as a couple smaller ones. And that has nothing to do with regular quests, special events, end game contents and the rest. Just to give an idee to the people that think that what they can do in the beta is all there will be in official release.

Yes please, the original CoP missions before they were nerfed ! All those nights without sleep to try to finish one of the mission and fail for the 8 times in a row... lol

For months we had whole part of the game just for a few people as most players were giving-up on those missions :)

PS: Funny how I enjoyed a lot more CoP when watching other people trying to do it than when I did it myself lol
