Is it just me or is this game more difficult than it should be

  I only started in open beta.  I would agree that there are some issues: menu lag, some tedious actions etc but I wouldn't say they make the game 'dificult'.  You must keep in mind that this is still a beta and as such they are rolling out patches almost every day.
