Post positive/negative facts about the game

MrSebMrSeb Member Posts: 71

Hey guys.. I'm quite interrested in this game, but after buying Aion, I've learned that it takes more than good graphics and cool teasers to make a good game.. Therefor, I would love to hear your opinion about the game, and what you like/dislike about it.

Also, my computer will not be able to run this game fairly as it is, but I do have a playstation .. How will the game work on playstation?.. Like any other mmorpg?.. Playing online?.. And is there any advantages/disadvantages?

The game is clearly designed for a ps3, I'd wait till March. You'll get a more refined product and you wont have to spend hundreds of dollars to update your computer.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

Will it still be online?.. And if it is, will you then be playing with other players who's using a computer?..

Yes, they stated the servers will be the same for every platform/region.

Also, Aion looked llike crap compared to ffxi.

    It's crap.. And still, I spend 3.000 $ when I bought it .. It's a XPS m1710 with these specs:

Processor:  Intel Core Duo T2600 (2.16 GHz)

    Memory:  2GB @ 667MHz - 2 DIMM Slots (2 x 1GB)  (Max Ram 4GB)

Hard Drive:  100GB capacity at a speed of 7200 RPM

Graphics Card:  NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX  with 512MB DDR memory

I use a core 2 duo 2.0 ghz and run the game great at high settings. Upgrade to 4 gigs of ram, get a bigger hard drive and a new video card and you'll be fine. I didn't even get a top of the line video card, its an ATI 5700 series with 1 gig of ram. I bet you can get the parts for under $300. I am actually amazed how well my computer has lasted, payed about 1500 for it when I built it and that was about 5 years ago. Had considered upgraded to a quad core but figure in the next 2 years I'll need to do a full upgrade anyhow so will most likely hold off on that.

i'm already getting a new computer so i guess the pc part is a moot point to me, but my real issue is everyoe always saying "it's really a console game they are testing on pc." which by no means is untrue, but you just make people who are going to buy this on pc, even if it's a few months before it's out on ps3 are not using good sense. i had already paid for a new computer and to tell you the truth getting the game was not even on my list of why to buy it (although it got on there pretty quick) my point is i don't own a ps3 and i was going to spend the money anyway, so why not just get it on pc......even if it's unfinished NOW, it won't be by march. i have dealt with worse.

I say buy the PS3 version because it costs just as much to buy a video card as it does to buy the console.

Peoples view of adequate performance on a PC are skewed and varied. When people say I play it and it runs fine then they say it gets 10-20 fps...it is illogical.

My system is better than the OPs system in every way and gets 10fps in towns with settings on low and/or off.

As far as it being designed for the PS3...it's obvious in the interface design and in how hardware works.

From what I can tell the PS3 has 7 processor cores running at 3.2ghz and basically a geforce 7800. I'd guess mainstream desktops are running 2 cores at around 2.6ghz...and the price of upgrading is crazy vs just waiting.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

agreed, but again in MY case i had a new computer already coming to me...so it wasn't like i was upgrading just for the sake of one thing.

In all honesty I wasn't that impressed with the game thus far anyways. They have improved the keyboard/mouse controls a lot since I started playing.

My major problem with the game in at least beta is the mobs around. There aren't a ton of mobs first off, so grinding is a bit of a pain where you are just running around in between kills. Also it is hard to tell which mobs you can kill and which you can't. You can go around killing star marmots (or whatever they are called) and then attack another mob close by and you'll get one shotted...

Also I feel like the combat isn't all that exciting, especially as a caster.

Anyways thats my gripe with the game thus far, i've gotten used to the UI and don't mind it. I don't mind grinding at all, my first mmo was lineage 2.

Your less generaed excitement is probably having less magic classes to mix n match skill. And the inability to spam magic due to mp issues. Magic casters started off this way in the beginning of FF11 too. But at the end cap mages became gods. I expect mp will become more readily available as you progress. And SE will have version updates roughly every 3 months adding new classes or skills in addition to many other things.
