Impressive.  I find it hard to hate on the system after watching that short video.  However, revolutionary might be a bit strong to describe the system.  The system still forces hardcore players to take up multiple jobs to avoid getting  no exp at all.   A hardcore player can not play a single class as a casual player can.  I also foresee this system creating a very poor community in which casual players will be looke down on for not having multiple jobs.

That's a really irrelevant comparison, the games aren't at all alike.

That's a really professionally done vid.

    ,,,,what?

Anyway, that's a pretty good way to explain the fatigue system.  But I forsee a problem, where the people constantly leveling laterally will be leveling their physical level much slower than someone focusing on leveling upwardly.

Mne eto nado kak zuby v zadnitse.

Gaming for Dummies. If that vid is still in the hundreds (views) by the end of this upcoming week it will show you how dumb people really are.

The powerlevelers need the casuals , when doing leves else you gimp the xp available as well. In a large group single classes are okay. The powerlevelers or people with multiples just have more choice.

Uh, I'm guessing you're thinking they're comparing Final Fantasy XIV to Final Fantasy Tactics?  There's no such a game as Final Fantasy XIV Tactics.  They just named the vidoe that because it's part of their Tactics series on Final Fantasy XIV.  Maybe you should pay a little better attenton.

That was a prretty professionally-made video, makes me wonder if it came from Square-Enix or one of their subsidiaries.

Good job on creating that video maybe people will finally stop spreading bad information (Well hopefully I know some will not even bother to watch it)

This video should be required viewing for all the crybaby, doom and gloomers on these forums...lol

"How can my bot level my toon for me with the fatigue system? Noooooo!!"

    /facepalm

Only an idiot would need a video like this to "understand" the system.  I knew the point of the fatigue system already.  It is a minor gripe for me, the only problem is that it doesn't reward the hardcore gamers who power grind, however since it being a PvE game there is really no point in doing so anyways, so I never had a problem with the fatigue system.  What I am wondering, is whether or not it is WORTH it spending all the time waiting and leveling your char.  Like what is there in the endgame waiting for us?  People hate WoW and so do I, but one cannot deny that Blizzard has done a great job keeping the endgame interesting and a time sink for gamers to become obsessed with.

Probably none, thus the reason they want you to slow down in time for it's implementation.

FFXI endgame was supposedly epic, but I couldn't handle the game past level 27 or so. Spent 5x as much time looking for a group than playing the damn thing.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

Nicely done. SE should be sending you checks in the mail.

Now if you can make a video that fixes UI lag.....

Only an idiot? That's pretty strong wording. For those people who haven't looked everywhere for clear information regarding the fatigue system this video is perfect. I'm not sure who you are trying to put down or why you felt the need to.

Whether it is worth it or not "spending all the time waiting and leveling your char" depends on what content they add on, or after release.

    The final made me giggle.

The video was good, but dont try to defend a flawed feature explaining is all for the sake of "freedom" and is so "revolutionary" and "complex" that people dont understand and bash the game.

    "It sucks"

That really depends on how well the difficulty scales.  If more than 1 class is required to function in a normal party, then it may become a big problem.  However, if multiple jobs is only needed for the most difficult and optional content, then there shouldn't be a problem.

No way. This is exactly the kind of clear explaination that SE needs to be putting out there. Therefore it cannot be from them. They simply don't communicate what needs to be communicated. Not their style at all.

That video was great, really well made! Gonna be showing my friends who still don't understand the system!

Well made video despite the spin.

Drop the next-gen marketing and people will argue if the game itself has merit.

All I've been hearing about FFXIV has lead me away from this game, but this video, among a few other things I've read from friends who have played FFXI with me in the past, is slowly starting to lure me back in.

  • terroniterroni Member Posts: 935

Why havent you played the beta? First hand experience trumps everything else.

I wish I could, but I do not have a computer that is powerful enough to run it. I was planning on getting it on the PS3. The push-back on that date didn't make me very happy.
