This GAME IS GOING TO BE EPIC!!!

Think Richard Cypher from the sword of truth novels (Terry Goodkind) and as we quest to save humanity while keeping our souls intact, the immersion and sense of awe and achievment as we destroy the evil that will destroy the WORLD!! Once accomplished we earn renknown and titles (yes, there should be titles) and truly become the hero of the people!

Heres hoping!

No more negativity, we have the option to take our first steps into a new world, and forge light into the darkness.

Very exciting times!!!

If you like Terry you should check out the Scions of Shannara book, or the entire series if you can get a hold of them.  It's superb.  TG is one of my favorites also cept I didn't like the sword of truth books as much as the others.  Another good set of books you would enjoy is the "Book of Swords".

Yeah I am really excited to live out the story.  FFXI was great at immersing you in the story and each expansion having a new seperate story line was great.  I am really excited about these aspects of XIV, and venturing into Aha Migo and stepping up to the Garlean Empire.

My excitement level for this has remained the same for the last 2-3 months I have been playing.  Really can't wait. =D

How can you immerse yourself in a game with extreme terrain copy-paste? I was travelling in a straight line the other day and experienced the exact same thing 3 times. Pathetic.

Those are all Excellent books yes. Recommend them all.

And yeah, I think the story in this game is going to be worth the time it will take to experience it. It's not very often you get the opportunity to play a part in one of Goodkind's stories. I still have my signed Wizard's First Rule and Stone of Tears  when I met him back in '95 in Omaha. The guy has an amazing mind.

I tend to read alot since my wife works in a bookstore, I enjoyed Goodkinds series and look forward to see what happens with George R Martins Game of Thrones series as well since it might become a TV series.

Not sure if this is allowed or not but I'm following this games development right now.

Director of Artistic Content is R.A Salvatore.

Executive Arts Director is Todd Mcfarlane.

It was just recently announced but its got my interests peaked with who's involved.

Yeah that game has peaked a lot of peoples interest.  They have some news articles on this site about it with some screenshots, but I believe last I read they were running out of money and looking for investors.  They talked a lot about writing and producing a game from RA's pov in an interview here.  Hard as heck to find it really.

I am interested to see what they come up with and hope the funding is there.  Hopefully they use some originality and creativity and don't bind themselves to the typical formula.

That would be unfortunate for it to fade due to funding but I guess thats how things go and only time will tell.

As it stand now FF XIV should be able to keep me entertained from what I've seen and played so far so no rush.

    Authors i'm reading...

Steven Erickson, Glenn Cook, Brent Weeks, John Ambercrombe to name a few for anyone looking for books to read.

.... Wizzards first rule was the only semi decent book, George R. R. Martins Series, a song of fire and ice is much better, with actual plot twists and a nice dark setting. ....

I hope that FFXIV will have an epic story line, FFXI was the first MMO i played, and I have yet to find another game where I give a shit about the story.
