Pay to Play Discussion

Hi MMORPG players,

I think the MMORPG games are coming to an imperialistic order, where only the most privileged can play games, that COST you about U$20,00 to play (per month fee) and another U$20,00 to buy the games, and I think thats just an absurd! Im not poor, but Im not RICH to pay that much to play games, that I really love.

Thank you for your time, I espect some returns in this topic.

And please, please, DO NOT TELL ME: "If you like free games, go play Tibia!" <---- Tibia grafics suxs image

20's a month is very very little, think about it, how much does a movie cost? i drop $15 easy when i go to a movie, and that is for TWO HOURS, a mmorpg can give you alot more then two hours, dont buy that one bottle of soda a day from the vending machine, thats over $30 a month on soda.. think about it, its not alot of money.

Yeah paying a monthy fee is not bad at all.  Yeah I used to go to this theater and Pay 9 bucks a ticket and that was during the time when Kill Bill Vol. 1&2 came out. I saw each five days in a row lol. I payed for FFXI Had 3 characters, Payed On car insureance, Cable , Internet, Payed rent, and only made about 500 bucks a month.

Sometimes you got to make sacrafices for stuff that you want. There was some things I gave up to play FFXI, Cigarettes being one of them.

2 tickets for $12.00? Where do you live or are you going to the Matinee's? Tickets here in Greenville, SC are $8.25 each for an adult ticket.

The most money can be saved by subscribing for 3 months. Look at WoW's subscriptions: $15 USD every month, $42 USD every 3 month, or $78 USD every 6 months. You have $180 USD a year on the one-month plan, $126 for a year with the 3-month plan, and $156 USD for a year on the 6-month plan.

Well considering that you may only play for a couple of weeks if you don't favor the MMO, I find it wise not to go for the multiple month deals. Plus, games like DAOC renew with multiple months if you choose multiple months in the first place. I quit my 3 months early- account auto renewed even after cancelling account- 3 more months.

No offense but how did you do your math? A year's subscription is 12 months - the 3-month plan (4 of which are required for a 12-month period) is 4 x $42 = $168 and *NOT* $126. Therefore, the 6-month plan is the cheapest (as would make sense - why would they make the 3-month plan the cheapest and have the 6-month one actually cost more)?

    1. MMORPGs do not cost $20 each month, they cost, at most, $14.99 (excluding that everquest premium or whatever the hell crap).

    2. It's called currency exchange, just because in Brazil it's $50, doesn't make it any more than $20US. In that case, If I live in Taiwan, I would have to pay $473 NT instead of $20 US. NOO That's too much! No, it's not, it's just the currency difference.

    3. Don't double/triple post.

I'm afraid you're gonna have to stick with Tibia.

12-20 a month is a low low price in fact on average for  MMORPG, ur paying at most 40 cents a day for 365 days. in fact you probably spend more on your snickers at lunch in two months.
