How to join a guild?

As far I noticed you get adviced in the game to join a guild, which seem to offer special items for guild points as well. Can it be that it is not able to join one in the open beta, or do I oversee how it works right now?

Guild joining options are disabled in the OB, At release I believe they will give you a lot more quests/jobs (to earn guild marks) in addition to the main story, which is why the devs have always stated that currently only about 10% of the content is in OB.
This was stated back in alpha, there's a lot more then 10% now, the exact % no one knows, no need to list %'s that are quite old. This could be all the content we won't really know till release.
You can use guild marks as it is in ob to purchase skills, you start earning them on level 20+ leves. As far as joining the individual job guilds your part of them when you buy that classes weapon, all the class guilds are used for is spending the guildmarks on skills, and possibly class specific items.
