In a short note on the official All Points Bulletin site, devs have announced the release of the 1.4.2 patch on Thursday, September 16th. The patch will bring the PureSkill ruleset online among other things. We've got the full post for you.

We're happy to announce that our next update, 1.4.2, is going to be rolled out tomorrow!

1.4.2 brings you the highly anticipated PureSkill ruleset where upgrades are nullified and you can fight on an even playing field! The update also includes the latest weapon balancing changes based on your 1.4.1 feedback!

The servers will be offline from 05:00 EDT / 02:00 PDT until 09:00 EDT / 06:00 PDT on Thursday 16th September.

Full patch notes to follow shortly, so keep an eye out on the forum!

They have GMs in game nearly 24/7 watching and banning hackers now. Don't take RTW's word for it, there's a thread on the (dreaded/hellhole/pit of fire) APB boards where someone actually witnessed it happening.

Oh wow they banned one hacker, bet the rest of the hackers had a laugh over that one.  There are not enough people left in the company to police this game, let alone ban enough to make a difference.

RTW is rather lacking on the hacking, and does an even worse job with full time farmers.

The community is quite laughable as well, unfortunately. I've had my character tossed on the forums in videos where I was "supposedly" hacking because the other players game slowed down when he came around me, or I would shoot them once or twice behind cover (bad hit boxes). I was also "reported" for dancing around a locked car unlocking it in an attempt to get a witness farmer to bounty flag so I could kill him. Meanwhile... packs of 20+ cash farmers still run about in the middle of the night unabated by RTW. It's a shame that the only defense against hacking is a shoddy "shame wall" where about 80 percent of the people featured there aren't even hacking in the first place.

As far as the game goes, It's dead Jim...

The poor response to the cheaters is what did me in.  Too bad RTW.

To little to late. We warned them about hackers and the psychotic imbalance in beta. We got locked, banned, and insulted by several of their community managers. Suck it RTW. you get what you deserve. Hopefully bankrupcy and unemployment. Lets see how well your holier than though attitude translates to hello kitty online adventures forum moderatores. It's about all you jerkoffs are suited to do.  Good riddance. I can't believe you thought a 3 zone themepark was worth 60$ and a monthly subscription. Even though we all told you it wasn't.

On a positive note, the customization was pretty damn good. To bad its cops and robbers bastardized with quake arena.

So dark and cruel. Yet so accurate. Makes me sad. :(

Well the pure skill ruleset is certainly a good thing for casual and new players, who might have problems fighting against players with full character and weapon upgrades.

Good run APB (not really), but at least you tried.

What do you mean? They're the first company to make a miracle patch that worked! Shutting this tragedy down was the perfect fix for all of its ills! GG RealTime Worlds! Now they just need to remember to stick to making mediocre singleplayer games ( Crackdown ) and leave the mmo space alone.
