I'm Excited

So about all of these negative posts about FFXIV....I personally have been waiting for this game since it as announced and was a long time player of FFXI. I see room for a ton of improvement in FFXIV that will improve the game to a great degree. Square Enix was good about FFXI and I'm sure they'll make this game a great game.

Sure this post may seem random but I'm posting it because there seems to be a lot of negativity coming towards the game and I honestly just think it is because some people aren't use to something new and there's also a number of people that this game doesn't appeal to. I will say for sure though, that this game isn't for everyone. I personally love the Final Fantasy series and always enjoyed their stories and setting so it's definitely been at the top of my list.

Who else is excited about the release of FFXIV? I have my Collector's Edition on pre-order and can't wait for it come.

Please come check out my stream. All the love is appreciated!

    Hey,

I'm excited too.  I've got the CE on pre-order and looking forward to get into an MMORPG from start again, make some friends, have some fun and play Sqeenix's latest creation.  The graphics are awesome and the game looks great.  Though not perfect, I've never played an MMORPG that was, but I see the pro's of this one overwhelming the cons, for me personally that is.

I find the amount of negativity toward this title a bit much too, but do understand it.  A lot of folks get really hyped about mmo's given the amount of time they'll be putting into them.  But I think those people who come here to post just negative things need to realise some of us will enjoy this game, and I'm sorry that not everyone will but that doesn't mean it will fail/suck or that we are stupid for enjoying different things in a game.

I've played many MMORPG games, and enjoyed many, disliked as many, but always try to go into the game with an open mind and try to appreciate the creator's and designer's vision.

Here's hoping you have a good time with FF XIV!

Hmm a 'nice' thread just for rambling. Sure I'll bite. I am anxiously awaiting the game as well. I ordered my CE edition via Gamestop and realized yesterday that GS delivery (even overnight) wouldn't get here until the 24th. On the good side, someone pointed out that Amazon has a .99 delivery opening day so I ordered a second copy that will get here first.

I am looking forward to most of the game but am completely hooked on (pun intended) fishing. Make money, couple it with cooking and just while away the hours. It's even a button un-intensive enough skill that I can do it (eventually) on the PS3 late into the evening while the wife sleeps! (More button intensive skills/games keep her awake so I get banished!)

Heh, I am thinking along the same lines for some of the trade skills stuff... there's a PS3 in the room we have an excercise bike in, so for when I don't feel like a full on gaming session, can do some fishing/cooking whilst working out.  Great stuff.

The CE won't make it until the 24th?? I thought it was a guaranteed street date or the shipping money back? I might just have to pre-order it from somewhere else if that applies to everyone. :(

Amazon is same day, 22nd. Gamestop said on the order (you have to log in to check your account) that is 'ready' on the 22nd but to allow a day for processing and a day for shipping. To me that means 24th. I wasn't going to take a chance.

I share in your excitement even though the game is not for me.

Good luck to everyone taking the plunge!

I am starting to feel the community/camaraderie already. Ah it's good to have a new 'home' (game)!

I predict a negative, hateful, bitter post any minute.

Very excited here too.  I get excited for every MMO launch, but this one in particular has me very excited and remembers some of my time spent in Vana'diel.

Ever game I've ordered off GS website with overnight shipping has gotten to me the day of release... and they all said that processing/shipping thing.

Last game I bought like this was Starcraft 2, before that it was Aion (which showed up a day early).

LOL. Let's keep it bright and sunny and maybe the haters will at least be polite and not comment. Goodness knows they have enough threads to remark about.
