With all this talk about all these things and issues that have came up with this game over these months, would it just be best to wait till the ps3 release? After all, you will get a chance to get the same collectors edition and regular edition pre-order items when it comes out for ps3, and It will give you time to think about how exactly to go about upgrading your computer or if it is even something you want to even do considering the betta issues, lack of quests, suprlus, system requirments and squares famously slow way of adjusting content thats exploitable. It might not be a bad idea to just wait six months and this is probably why:
In those six months you will find out everything thier is to know about the game and if everyone else likes it still or if your juts wasting your money to buy the game or upgrade your computer.
In six months they will still offer pre order items again so you wont really have to feel like you missed out on an item that is only being offerd pre-order.
Could all this delay actually be a blessing in disguise to allow you to be able to step back and see if you like the game based on a ton more information without missing out on pre-order items? It very well could be.

Really Fistorm your poll question is so vague it doesn't make any sense! Worth the wait? If you answer no that could mean either you think the game is no good or so good you shouldn't wait. Votes on this would be meaningless. It needs a little clearer poll question.
Yeah it's why I stopped doing polls since you can't change them I always find myself after posting thinking of better ways to word it.
In regards though I never really planned on trying this game on pc since it would be launched for ps3 I made a mental note to try it there since I haven't played any FF mmo nor a FF game since the SE merger. It's only the logical conclusion that if the game launches on pc with problems whether they be systematic or design it will only help those who wait for the ps3 launch. Now if a person chooses to purchase on pc now they have to be aware it's a buyer beware type of situation they know already some people out there don't like it and some of them will also join those ranks.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
Start on the PC and switch to the PS3 when it comes out. Your PC character and PS3 character are the same.
In order for me to play this game the way it's meant to be played I need a new cpu, ram, and gpu. It's not a matter of upgrading, it's a matter of a new PC. I'll wait for the PS3.
Also, this game could have been held off until the PS3 version was ready without much complaint. Most people were surprised when the launch date was announced.
I thought the same thing. So I didn't bother voting. However, I personally am not waiting and pre-ordered my copy. The learning curve of the game is not as easy as other MMOs out there but once you get to know the game, it becomes very refreshing. The game goes back to its roots and adds the RPG to MMO again. WoW and other games went away from that and started going the route of an "arcade-style" dumbed down MMO. Where you can cast almost unlimited spells or have an endless of array of arrows with no fear of running out. Which in itself is fine, for those type of games. But for a serious RPG gamer, this MAY bring back some of that danger of running out of mana. Mana dump on one mob, and you are out of luck. So people have to actually think instead of just smashing buttons then rinse and repeat.
I agree, I have a decent CPU but the game was very laggy for me til I upgraded my gfx card. After that, it was a whole new gaming and rewarding experience instead of being frustrated and almost quitting it. Glad I stuck it out because FFXVI is actually a very good game so far.
Hey! I would have complained!
Seriously I think it would have been a serious mistake to delay the PC version because the PS3 version didn't get ready. I suspect a lot of people are going to buy and try FFXIV because SWTOR postponed and WoW Cataclysm still hasn't announced a release date. But Cataclysm is expected to release before Christmas and SWTOR is still saying they are planning a spring 2011 launch. So why put the FFXIV PC client into fierce competition by waiting when hundreds of thousands of players are ready (181,000 pre-orders as of 9-11-2010)?
I'd say it really depends on the individual's tolerance for a little less refinement. Also, once you go cross-platform, there's a quesiton of if you prefer to play on your PS3.
