Screenshots time! Show us your most beautiful and impressive screenshots of FFXIV

There's no doubt that FFXIV has some really impressive sceneries and vistas, from vast panoramas to enthralling forest  scenes to atmospheric, highly detailed tavern rooms and cities in the evening's light.

Unfortunately I've no beta access, I usually tend to make a lot of screenshots of the MMO's I play, but maybe some of you might be doing the same: what are the images that made the most impression to you, that left you in awe or that you liked in FFXIV? Show it to us too!

(NB: I might include later on some ingame screenshots I've seen elsewhere, as soon as I figured out this embedding picture thing with this site's editor)

For some odd reason see,t to be the screenshot option blocked right now. Guess my browser acts just odd, anyway a scene I liked is prett early actually in a starting cutscene.

I've been a screenie fiend the last few days.  Been traveling all over Eorzea (from Limsa to Gridania and beyond.)

    Here's a few that I liked a lot. :)

    {And for those who may not know.....hold Scroll Lock to clear the UI and cursor and hit PrintScreen.  Screens are saved in your MyDocuments>MyGames>FFXIV>screenshots folder. And yes, each screen gets stamped with a little copyright notice}

yuppers!  I just use the first-person perspective to make it more photographic :)  The game is so damn beautiful though, that it's hard not to take a great screenshot!  Here's a couple with my character.  Also, found that if you type /names in the chat window, you can turn off the names off everything and it will make it look even more photographic.

    Cheers!

Hmmm here's a small-ish collection of a few I've taken that I like for various reasons...

Here's one I took simply because of the Radiohead reference in the NPC dialog... Also posted this on FFXIVcore, so some of y'all here may have seen it there as well...

    Just!

Just a particularly nice shot of Shan...

    Shan!

An accidentally well-composed shot taken while on the boat to LL.

    On A Boat!

Shan doing what she does best... sadly. (Raise) (Please) Shanree Avolara (pos) (Thank You)

Love the range of expression in XIV's characters...

    Huh?

    ... and that's just a few

    Nice ones again image

I was wondering, these variations in facial expressions, are they only seen in ingame story cutscenes, or are they like in Aion where avatars vary in expression from time to time? Or are they also linked to emotes and actions that you do, or like some MMO's where you can change your avatar's facial expression by setting your char's mood?

I noticed the expressions as well.  They are quite detailed in the game and not just in cutscenes.  I believe you must give an emote command to trigger a change in expression and I'm unaware of any other active way to change an expression.

I was actually pleasantly surprised when I saw how detailed the facial expressions were.  :)

Out of curiosity, what settings were these taken at?

1280x1024 resolution with 4x AA and 16x anistropic. Highest Shadow, High and Highest texture with depth enabled. Definitely was a great place, moody, dark in the corridors and deadly on the second floor. :p

Heh, nice ones! I loved the city scenes, some scenes even look better and richer than AoC's - and with no area instancing, as far as I understand, right?

Here are a few more screens.  Dropped into a dungeon near Camp Bloodshore called Cassiopeia.  Very cool looking place.

Also running into an empty Aetheryte camp near Ishgard was a bit eerie.

    Cheers!

I've been running around exploring the game world, as there really is no point in doing anything else a few days before release.

That place looks pretty crazy at night.

Edit: Now that I've been in Mor Dhona a bit longer, I believe that it has a tri-day cycle. Day, "purple haze" and night.

Hope you guys enjoy the screen shots, I'll try to get more tomorrow as I sort of got stuck on the map and can't figure out how to proceed.
