Do not pre-order LU. It's not worth $39.99 for a game you can finish everything in only one weekend.
The game is fun at first. It has very simple game play which is actually refereshing for a change. But it severely lacking in content especially for a game that has a purchase price and subscription cost. The different worlds/zones are very small in size and there are only a handful that make up the game world. The game had potential but I think Lego made a mistake teaming up with NetDevil who appears to have another Auto Assualt on their hands.

how do you know?.....you a dev and dont like your own game?
Incase you weren't aware LU is in Closed Beta with a pre-launch head start only a month away.
Go back and read what some said about WOW before it came out.. just saying try the game 1st. No different than the new Final fantasy online. Me I would not buy FF. but some would.. so ..
thought this game was meant for 10 year old kidz?
It's a game targetted at a younger audience. That audience (when responsible parents are involved) won't be able to power game through all the content quickly. They will likely get an hour a day on average to get to play, if that. So the content has to move at a decent pace so those kids and teens don't feel like the hour they got to play was wasted since they made no progress.
Sometimes it is best to understand the game you are getting involved in instead of hearing the letters MMO and thinking it is meant to be a hardcore grind with end raid and gear scores.
Ok then let your kid play LU one hour a day.
After ten to 15 days he/she is finished. -> Seen all, done all.
If your small one likes grinding then add 10 more days. -> Have all.
Then play LU yourself on a free weekend and check your played time when you have the feeling that all left to do is playing with bricks on your property. You will start thinking about what a multiplayer online game given the amount of content should cost (monthly). And then you'll think about the fact why the freck I emphasised the word "multiplayer".
I wonder if LU will ever feature a free trial. How should that work? Limit players to 3 hours of game time?
Since it was geared toward kids, I let a 10 year-old play it and they got bored pretty quickly. I couldn't play for more than a few minutes at a time. Boring.

My 6 year old loves it...but he loves anything you can throw at him.
My ten year old son could take it or leave it. With the many game options available, there is nothing driving him to play. We like the game, but I think Lego fans will get the most enjoyment out of this game.
Still, for the parents out there looking for an entry level mmo, or something just plain fun to kick around in, you could do much worse for your $39.99. It is not a waste of money, but you might want to make sure your child has at least some basic interest in Lego.
Ten year olds will still be able to do all there is in a couple weeks. Even if they are limited to 1 hour a day they will be done with LU before the first free month is up.
I'm a big Lego fan. I play the console games, have several Lego sets, ect, but after play-testing for a few weeks now, I can say that I won't be buying this game at launch. There simply is not enough content right now. Add to that the fact that the devs have stated that it will be P2P and I'm for sure out. The game is great fun, there simply is not enough of it. With regular content releases, this game could be a 1st year buy, but not day one.
I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
if you did research u lvl up too fast
And if you knew even a little bit about this game, you'd know that there are no levels in LU.

If you really want to invest 40 dollars in a family MMO, try Wizard101 or FreeRealms instead. You could even get more play time out of them for free than out of LU for 40 bucks.
And yes this title is P2P -> 10 Dollars/Euros per month.
