I just bought PS about 2 days ago and i have been loveing it (even though i need a new video card badly and i tend to lag alot in at at 0-50 FPS). And i was wondering how this game is also. Could any one tell me which is better in terms of gameplay, lag, amount of people who pay, ect. please and thank you

I would say WWIIOL wins in all mentioned above
u want fair answers and u ask it on the wwiionline boards?
btw planetside is a huge battlefield 1942 with futuristic equipment and no real goal i got bored playing it in about 15 days

Indeed. WWIIOL is just all around way more better than PS. This is coming from a 2 year PS veteran.
Also, it should be noted, that within 2 months you will be bored of PS.
They're both completely different games, different goals by the dev of them both.
Planetside is zerg based rushing with stacked weapons that requires basically quick reflexes.
WWIIO is not so twitch based, only has to be as zerg based as your side is organized, requires more strategy, and has balanced weapons [at least on infantry]

I played both games, admitedly I haven't played PS in a couple years and by all accounts it has changed a fair amount, but I do have some friends who play it, so I'll give you his opinion on the game (he recently trialled wwiiol).
Essentially what he enjoyed about the game was the challenge. He enjoyed the fact that he could take on a role and execute it to the best of his ability. He also enjoyed the fact that people had time for him, either on the help channel (99) or just in general in the field.
He did compare it to PS, he was blown away by the teamwork and understood that small squads where incapable of capturing a town, this was something that he and 2 or 3 other friends would do regular (Basically camp the spawn tubes).
Unfortunately he doesn't have a lot of cash after all his monthly bills and he found that by spending $24.99 he gets to play all the SoE games that he currently has (SWG, SoE, PS, EQ1, EQ2 etc) and so the extra $14.99 a month for WWii wasn't in his budget.

I've played both but have stayed with WW2OL. PS is a great looking game and lots of fun to start with but as others have said I found my interest wained after a month. I think the main reason I prefer WW2OL is because it's alot harder and IMO it takes more gaming skill to survive and to get kills regularly. You can have great fire fights in PS but people don't have to sweat to much about taking hits and so run around in full view alot of the time. WW2OL is alot more deadly and I really like how it makes you use cover and keep your head down. I also perfer the historical setting.
Planetside > for arcade players that like fast paced massive battles and fights
WWII Online > for players that likes realism and realistic massive battles and fights

I hold subscriptions to both.
I hardly ever play PS anymore though.
PS is a better FPS than ww2ol.
WW2ol is a better vehicle sim.
In the long run though the game play in ww2ol is much more compelling. At least to me.

Planetside pales in comparison.
-Planetside is still a good game, but after a while you start to wonder what your fighting for.
-between some grossly overpowered vehicles and infantry guns and out dated bases they said at least a year ago would be fixed up and given new light (that never came)
Planetside is the game of promised garbage sometimes
-things like Outfit owned bases never came
-the new base designs? nope
we got BFR's which no on really wanted, and they turn up making a ton of us quit because they just ruin what was left of the feel from Planetside

planetside was an amazing game back 1-2 years ago in Novemeber. they had balance down almost perfect, but they started tweaking again and it all went out the window for the umpteenth time

WWII ain't no joke just cuase there ain't a game cursor(by the way if you haven't noticed when you have a real gun there is no dot in front of you)
If you want to play a game that whould be very challengeing to stay alive and rank up like a real solider play this game
Planetside is the only joke. It's taken them years to make that game playable, and it's still buggy. Not to mention the incompatence of the dev team. I've never seen a team that changed a game so much for the community. I'm sure it sounds like they're doing a good thing, but nerfing a weapon everytime somebody yells nerf is pathetic. Not to mention the gameplay, all you do is zerg masses of troops into towns until you cap it. WWIIOL actually requires strategy and an IQ higher than 50.
imho you'll only enjoy yourself in WW2O if you are a hardcore fan,
in WW2O there aren't that many vehicles/arms/planes/boats, and each takes great skill in its own to use! the game takes a lot of patience, taking your tank to the battle may take upto an hour (real time speeds, map 1/2 scale and tanks generally don't do more then 30-40kph -> u'd be able to do a max of 60kilometers in an hour wich is 2-3towns from the front line)
and theres a good chance u get killed within minutes of entering the front line! (especially alone)
theres no balance either, a round penetrates your hull explodes and all your crew is instantly dead. or it doesnt and u live happily till the next round hits
also the updates are regular, but they are usually minor. the dev's admit that certain updates will take a few more years till we see them...
Planetside: pretty much instant battle fun, not a lot of updates but they aren't needed. there are lots of units in the game and they are all pretty much balanced. the equipment of the 3 different factions isnt all that different though
it plays like a regular fps and doesn't take that much skill to get used to it (you'll always be able to kill something, unlike in WW2OL) also has a higher playerbase then WW2OL ...
played both, Planetside 3 months and WW2OL about a year...
the odds? you'll probably have most fun in Planetside, WW2OL is a hardcore simulation. simulations don't tend to be all that "exciting". but if you want to live in the 40-45era heres your chance!
It doesnt take forever to find a battle, just open your eyes or join a squad.
I like reasonable gamers, they're few and far between in this world. Salute to you Erazor01
