So I love that FF14 only gives you one character (from what I've been told). Its going to make people get super attached to their toons and build up long lasting reputations. With that said what are you going to play...?
Personally I'm still debating it, I'm not a beta tester or anything but I'm looking forward to trying the game out when it arrives at my house tomorrow.

I have been planning on playing a Conjurer since I first read about them(Wizards and Sorcerers are my favorite classes), but since it seems like everybody and their mother will be one as well, so I might change my mind.

I'll be joining in on the 30th. (This is fine, as work is pretty much keeping me from working anyhow.)
I'm not sure what I'll play. I'm attracted to Conjurer, but may decide to go Thamaturge. I was a BLM in 11.

morrowind was ok, but oblivioun blew it out of the water. and 14 is great if you like being able to play with other kids in the sandbox, if you dont like playing with others though by all means play your morrowind, less pee in our sand.
If I can play something other than the billing or patch servers, I'll be happy.

It's a shame Morrowind is a far better game then most new games.

Meh. Morrowind's atmosphere is excellent, but Oblivion made it all but obsolete on all other counts. Still, I'm surprised to see any "old school" gamers dislike Final Fantasy XIV, it's super old school.
Well that's not very nice. What if, because I said I was playing Morrowind, it inspired somebody else to reinstall and play through it and have a blast?
Oblivion had better combat and better graphics, but I thought it had a weaker story, and it certainly had less of a modding community. Morrowind was also a bigger game. But I'd say atmosphere counts for quite a bit these days; STALKER is proof of that.

All I'm saying is, MMO players talk all the time about how they like to play their games with others, but I've never seen such a hostile group of people. Anonymity might be a big part of it, but if you like to play with other people, maybe you should act like it.

And yes FF is MMO, thank you very much for reminder and yes we will play with other people. but why do you care? you will be playing Morrowind right? and yes its anonymity that encourages people like you to be smart ass. Getting back to topic. I will be playing a Conjurer. I enjoyed it the most in OB and i am sticking with it. Pretty excited about it actually

Did you see that guy's post about the class population in FFXIV? Was anyone else amazed at how many Conjurers there were? I mean, usually the thief/rogue archetype is the most popular. Plus, aren't Conjurers the healers (not exclusively, of course)? It blows my mind.
I have to wait till the 30th. Couldn't lay out the extra cash for the CE... not that I wouldn't have liked to.
I won't be playing anything Tomorrow as I pre-ordered the Standard edition because the CE didn't really have anything I cared to spend that much money on and the SE has those sexy goggles =3
I'll be starting out as a lancer, but will be adding in some other things as I go along.
Also, Morrowind is an awesome game! I dont think a single RPG has come out since that can top Morrowind.
