Getting a hands on look at RIFT: Planes of Telara for many folks is high on the 'to do' list for 2010. MMORPG.com's Garrett Fuller had the opportunity for a hands on preview of RIFT. Garrett has a report about the game and playing as a Dwarf Pyromancer. We who may not get a chance at the game before release can live vicariously through Garrett's report. Check it out!
Recently, we got the chance to sit down and play some RIFT with the development team. It is always great to see how MMOs develop behind the scenes with a special play session. RIFT does not disappoint the MMO player. It is formatted in a classic style that we have all become used too, yet RIT offers plenty of options and new ideas to the genre in the form of class construction, event content, and map interaction that will keep players moving.

Whoop, that was strange.
As I was going to say:
It's indeed a good game, and I too am eagerly waiting for beta.

not once piece of info in this
Yes there is. You just may be blind to it.
Yet another individual from one of the various MMO gaming related sites has very positive things to say about the game. Just builds more credibility for the game having more and more folks who have different tastes liking RIft for what it is.

I am looking forward to this game very much. Every time I see some real information it just improves my perception of the game. I am glad Trion is taking their time and making this game as complete and bug free as possible before even going into beta stages.
Gaming since Avalon Hill was making board games.
Played SWG, EVE, Fallen Earth, LOTRO, Rift, Vanguard, WoW, SWTOR, TSW, Tera
Tried Aoc, Aion, EQII, RoM, Vindictus, Darkfail, DDO, GW, PotBS
Agreed. I too am looking forward to this game. Although it doesn't seem to be garnering the attention of a lot of the other up-and-comers, I have a better feeling about this game than any other. I believe it to be the dark horse of the group of upcoming releases.
Your fail comment, failed.
Definetely a game which is appearing more and more exciting each preview, hope the beta starts soon so that the release date will at least be in sight.

I agree, the more I hear good news about this, the more I want to play. We'll find out more about the ins and outs soon enough.
It has to be saying something when every article I see gives it a thumbs up or at least a nod. Where as every article on SWtoR raises question marks.
I liked the copying of the DAOC mapped combat, nothing wrong with copying a master!
Too short. This pre-view was too short. More please.
It takes one to know one.

I m bored of reading show us some real action.
agree
why not a video capture of what we just read about?
I dont understand why everyone complains about give us more etc, when there is soo much info on the game already... just look it up there is a huge number of gameplay vids and interviews etc about this game...
If you mean video of gameplay there is tons of it out there. Just have to click a few buttons to find it. The Rift forum on this site is a good place to start and you can branch out from there.

Are you crazy!?!?! You want someone to actually do their own work and look it up? You ask the impossible lol
How many delicate flowers have you met in Counterstrike?
I got a case of beer and a chainsaw waiting for me at home after work.
Okay, okay. I'll go to my corner now.

There was not a lot of hard data but there was good info about easy of class change and how useful the map is. With some MMOs out there changing builds can be a hassle and the map may as well not exist.
Going to have to go get my beta key.
I love the artwork/style of this game. I've been dying for a high fantasy game to play. Trion take your time and do it right! I've waited this long I can wait a bit longer, so can your investor's
Good read nothing really new but it's always good to hear someone else who played the game really liked it. And just from vids it wasn't really clear that you could actively move in a fight so that's good to hear =D
As someone else said, these type of reviews give alot of insight into how the good the game is. Big posts about classes or game mechanics are all very good but hearing someone say that the game is fun to play is second to none.
Really looking forward to this and as has been said byother people the fact that there are many positive reviews/posts regarding this game on different sites aswell as this one really is making me think this will be a great game.
Short but sweet article. Hearing things like the controls are straight forward it's easy to move and that the game in general is actually fun are often missed in the deep technical reviews. In my opinion this is what is killing some of the newer games. Sure they boast great graphics, deep character specs, epic quest lines w/ voice acting etc... but If I can't move my toon easily and the UI is disorganized well it's all for nothing.
