Looking to find a non-subscription based game.

Hey guys!

I tried making a thread earlier, and I didn't get many results, to I am gonna lower my standards a bit.

I recently quit WoW, and I am looking for something to spend some of my time with. I want a game with a good interface. If the interface looks ugly, then I will not have much fun playing it. If I can change it with an addon, then that would be fine too. I don't want to have to spend 8+ hours a day to be good at it, either. I don't really care how old it is, as long as it has a good community.

Games I have played and liked:

Dragonica: Really fun

WaR: I like PvP

Guild Wars: I like PvP

World of Warcraft: Leveling is nicer than other mmos

Games I did not like

Global Agenda: I don't know why, haha

Perfect World- The interface looked really bad

Maplestory- I don't like the 2D sidescrolling thing

I also wanted to ask, even though it may be a little off topic, if DAoC was going to go f2p any time soon? LotRO and EQ2 did it, and DAoC is older than the two.

Thanks, guys!

Haven't heard of daoc going free to play anytime soon. I bet they would rather it die though, since they seem to be intent on killing it.

EDIT: Oh right, the title of the post says non sub. I don't think there are any "great pvp" mmorpg's that are f2p.

It doesn't have to be a great pvp game, just a game I could have fun with.

Star Sonata? Anarchy Online? Worth trying I suppose, probably in reverse order.

Requiem looks intresting, but I can't download it. Does anybody else have this problem?

I recommend a game such as Runescape, Runes of Magic, Jade Dynasty or Dragon Fable.

All of these games include F2P activities, although most require a subscription for further content, the F2P content is extensive.  If you are into W.O.W. or Runescape, and are unwilling to pay for advanced content, then I suggest playing on a private server.  Remeber with private servers though, some are considered *against the rules* for that game.  So if that is the case, I do not recommend it.

    Hope this helps

Hi.. I think you should try Runes of Magic!! I have been playing it for a week or so now and its very fun!! There is a lot of things to do in it... Such as crafting armours, weapons, clothes etc, then there is cooking and also planting, which is a pretty cool new feature! You are also given your own house to add furniture to, as you please once you reach level 5. As well as this, there is good action packed gameplay and LOTS of quests to do and places to explore! The boss mobs are tough, but you get to open their treasure chests once you defeat them. It is 100% F2P.... The only thing which you have to pay for is the item shop, but that is optional! The worlds are cool and have some similarities to  WoW, which you might be interested in since you just quit it!

    Hope you enjoy it!! image
