question about spec and If I can run this

in Final Fantasy XIV

I play on a laptop... getting a bit old but I dont feel yet to buy a new one...  ( still saw a not bad deal on futureshop on a m17x  i7-720QM with Radeon HD 5870 for 2.2k )

 

Im getting a 1.2k on low setting ....maybe with some tweak I can get a tad more.. but cant exept to break 1.5k.

 

Someone played with similar result on the bench?

    I benchmarked 450 on high and 1200+ on low and it runs fine with some tweaking downwards. I guess overall I am on medium settings graphically.

    If you have to ask, assume you won't find the performance acceptable.

    I have a pretty good gaming laptop, but its 2.5 years old and wouldn't consider playing this game w/o upgrading to a new one.

    BTW, ASUS has some really decent deals on their Republic of Gamers line of gaming laptops, which you can see here on this link at Amazon.

    The one I seen on futureshop is 2299$ with top ATI card 5870 and qi7 processor, not so bad, also a 1920 screen with 8 gig...

     

    I find it a pretty good deal + awesome look
