Game down?

in Final Fantasy XIV

Is the game currently down?.  I dont see any one else asking on here so wasnt sure.  I did a small patch earlier and now i cant log on.  Keep getting some lobby error message.

    they are doing server maint till 2pm cst with the possibility of an extension.

    The game is up for me now. You should be able to download the update (don't use Square's crappy updater of course).

     

    EDIT: Scratch that, server not working anymore t.t

    where did you download the update from? can you link it?

     

    EDIT: nvm that update took all of 10 seconds.

    Surely you jest with this post, FF being a hardcore non-hand holding game and the OP comes on MMORPG and asks if servers are down? lol come on, the fanbois can not check their site to see if the server is down? fanboi's...go figure.

    I know the patching is different for everyone, or so it seems. One thing I noticed with both the patches yesterday and today.

     

    I had browsers open when I first brought up the patch/launcher. I waited 10 minutes (I was browsing here and FFXIVCore so no traffic to speak of) and the patcher didn't move even 1%. I shut the browsers down and walked away to get coffee. Came back and the patch today was done.

     

    Obviously their software needs some help but a little patience and some 'stretch' time worked well for me.

    I noticed yesterday with the first 2 patches, the first smaller one took no time to download, but the second one never moved once. had to do that one manually.

    Download took 22 minutes for me using SE's downloader.  Yesterday's announcement on Lodestone said they would be down from 9-12 this morning and I logged into the game at 12:20 so they were on time or pretty close it looks like.
