Trial vs Real Game

in Everquest II

I have played the Free trial and had no problems with graphics or performance I have read about in the past.  Is this due to it only being the Demo?  I dont want to get the complete game and all the sudden frame rate drops and have lag problems due to my middle of the road pc.

P4 1.4...Gforce 4 4600...512 ram

    As far as I know there is no difference. The only thing that will change is that there are more zones after the isle. So as you enter more and more zones during a play session your RAM will get filled up eventually. You may then notice some decrease in performance as your computer starts using your page file. And of course you have the chance of running into more people once off the isle which could slow your system down if you have character details too high.

    There is no actual difference, but the pile of NPCs in the cities WILL make you lag unless you turn stuff down really far. There are a few mods out there that allow you to click a button on your interface to remove shadows and other lighting effects for city travel. Someone has a UI setting swapper in beta at EQ2interface.com too. You can check those out.

    Other than the sheer number of NPCs there, there's nothing technically different about any of the other graphics though. It's just a lot of NPCs for your PC to keep track of, and some of them walk around, so that's more info to keep tracking.

    Honestly it should be more tha playable. But don't really expect the same graphics exactly. Like someone said there will be more NPCs and players. You will most likely have to tweak your settings to get the same performance. Fortunately you can tweak things like particle effects and a few things most people consider really really minior.
