Questions about Attributes and Traits affecting skills

Zeus.CMZeus.CM Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 1,788

I don't know if this was already discussed, but I've got some questions to be answered, which I couldn't find answer to by watching the demo videos.

In which way  and how strong does attributes affect certain skills, and if you could give some example?

Same question for traits.  Thanks.

info about this have not been released, and the few things that could be exstracted out of the videos is not that interesting, because we got to little info there and its still subjekt to change anyway, so patience....

Traits can affect attributes and affect spells and skills

such as this trait batle commander

    http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Battle_Commander

Yeah and there are traits that make melee skills ranged etc. http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Necrotic_Dagger

I think at this stage its really hard to tell just how much they will affect play but Im guessing that for the most part it isn't overly game changing. I expect things like Necrotic Dagger [turning a close range attack into a ranged one], are generally going to be the kind of thing we see. Its a fun affect but it doesn't overly increase the power behind what you are doing.

On the same pages that have been linked I also took note of the fact that certain Traits might be disabled from PvP so that there aren't balancing issues. Which I could understand, since some effects against PvE opponents take on a very different dimension when you are in PvP and certain effects are more strongly relied upon.

Im currently trying to find a baseline for stats so I can figure out just how much something like Superior XXX would increase the relevant stat at a higher level. My internet is not wanting to load the video at the moment so I might be back in just a minute.

Edit: So I found it. A 47 Warrior has over 600 in his main stats. So a 75 boost is fairly useful as it turns out but I believe 75 is the highest level and there's no telling what you need to do to unlock up that high since there are smaller ones along the way to that one.
