I like the combat system! Thank god its not point n click!!
Not sure about the emphasis they put on the distinction between the "single player" start of the game and the "PvP" end game. Hope this doesn't mean some sort of strange zoning seperating players. Mmorpgs should have fewer artificial distinctions rather than more.

Can't say i'd be to happy if that was the way the genre (and Funcom) was heading. Pandering to the lowest common denominator ain't my style.
I'm looking forward to this one, if just because I enjoyed the books, the comics, and the first movie so much. Hope they do it up right.
As for it not being a "real" MMORPG, I got the impression you would play a single player portion with branching storyline where you are the hero, then enter as a proven bad-arse into the multiplayer landscape. This way, you would be a noob in some ways, but would have some skills and experience with the UI, etc. I assumed it would be like making a tutorial into a decent single player game to get you ready for the MMO. Perhaps the branching storyline and choices determine your class or skill set for when you enter the multiplayer phase of the game?
Anyway, the graphics look very nice and the story scenario is certainly well developed. Let's hope this one lives up to half of the potential it has.
I must warn everyone now I will be this games most rabid Fanboi, even though it is Funcom.
Unless they use their already honed skills at screwing up MMO's here then this could well be the game I have been waiting for.

If you cant deal with open PvP you have no right even commenting on a game in the Conan universe and the developers have no right making one. This is a universe not to be trifled with by commercial considerations and whining mommies boys.

Man, I am totally psyched for a Conan MMO or Online RPG or whatever. I'm glad to hear that it's going to be true to Robert E. Howard's vision of Conan, and not the bastardizations released after he died.
I would suggest that everyone interested in this game go pick up The Coming of Conan book (I think that's what it's called, don't have it handy). It's a compilation of the original Conan short stories written by Howard. No other authors screwing it up (or editing it). Those are the true stories of Conan...
Howard was a strange guy. There could have been a lot more Conan stories, and possibly some real novels if he hadn't ended his own life so young.

"Diablo 8"
Or "Dungeon Siege 4"
This new game IS a NICE game. But it is not a MMORPG. It will be compeating with Dungeon Siege 2, Diablo 3 , and other games like them. ORPGs. And perhaps RTSs. And maybe even to some degree FPS, except instead of guns, swords and knives. Though CounterStrike allows knives to be used in real time combat.

looks good, inovative combat system and it looks like the quests will be pretty good. ETA is mid 2006 though which is hella long from now.
