World of Darkness confirmed, based on Vampire: The Masquerade

 

Enough said .... not alot info as of yet , but the long awaited hints of this game finally are confirmed . Have fun .

    I am so glad there is solid confirmation out there finally. I am also very elated to see it may be released in 2012. I started my RPG 'hobby' with Vampire- The masquerade in 1992 and have been gaming ever since. The idea that it will be a full fledged MMO excites me to no end. There isnt a good MMo out there in this genre and I know CCP can make a good game. With White Wolf's storytelling it could be spectacular. Very exciting indeed.

    I see this more like another eve with a vampire setup. Mind you: this isn't bad at all... lol.

    I might end up playing it even if it's just a straight translation from eve. It just have to be well done.

    Thats what I was thinking.  They are also working on that Dusk game. . I love eve but I don't want to dock at safehouses and trade blood.  Fingers crossed for a nice mix.

                I agree on the 2013-14 theory -specculation - guestimation. Although CCP/Whitewolf are very respectable and i --assume-- they have already something solid at hand .

     

    Edit : judging by the "teaser" and the earlier post of hair and clothing mechanics..... too gothique.... should be fun to see how this rolls around ! hehehe!

    Well given the trend it will pass through CCP's birthing canal in 2012 weighing 2 lbs and needing to be in an incubator for a year. Supported by people buying beta version and paying a subscription to play in an open beta of course.

    Right, but the thing CCP has over people who make Fallen Earth, and MO, is that they release a game that is playable and with features that people can use to have fun while the game is being finished.

    Well, the only thing you have to base this of is EVE, correct me if I'm wrong. Don't misunderstand me, EVE is the only MMO that I am currently subscribed to, and it is supa fun times!

    True, but they did the same thing in the beginning and they pretty much do the same thing every expansion.

    I've heard vague rumors for awhile so it's nice to see some concrete information. I'm encouraged that it's called "World of Darkness" instead of just Vampire, which may imply a variety of player-characters beyond vampires. I'm not super-familiar with the content but I've always enjoyed what I've encountered. I did have to call my WOD fanatic friend a few times playing that Bloodlines game: "Hey, I'm trying to fight this werewolf, it's not working. What? Yeah I'm a vampire, the clan that's angry and likes fighting. What? I won't win...at all? I should run? Well I've got super speed, let's see how that works." It worked!

    Also, forgive my World of Darkness ignorance, but does the Masquerade mean that it's the old universe, with Cain and generation count and Tzimizce and such (I probably butchered that spelling)?
