Having some trouble making the game full screen O_o

Ok well, whenever I start up Final Fantasy 14.. it doesn't fill up my whole computer screen. Its in a little box that I can move around. I try maximizing the screen so it fills everything, but it is un-clickable. Anyone know what to do? :(

You can change your video settings outside of the game if you go into the Final Fantasy Config in your Square Enix folder you'll see it under general and video settings and than on display mode there will be a drop down with your options.

It's probably like this because they make the client not able to minimize maybe it wouldn't work in changing resolution or window size dunno.

It can't be menu driven in-game. No. That would simply be too "soft" for FFXIV. SE likes to take everything conventional and expected from modern MMO's and throw them in the trash.

Dev1: It might be nice to be able to adjust graphics settings in-game.

Dev2: NO! This game does not hold your hand.

Dev1: But, it's become the golden standard that everybody in the industry uses.

Dev2: Our fans are so rabid that they will call our archaic and unintuitive systems unique and revolutionary! No user-friendliess!

lol, I read this listening to the radio where the song, "I think Im turnnig japanese" was playing.

The minimize button works just not the maximize.  More likely than not the game will crash with a DirectX error if you do it but you can try.  My bet is they couldn’t make custom screen resolutions render right so they disabled it.

The user interface and graphics engine look like they were a high school computer class project.  20 years of standards and refinements for good PC UI design were ignored in astounding numbers to make this game.  I know SE doesn’t really have much experience with the PC platform but geez I would think they could have sprung to hire a couple experienced interface design folks.
