in Rift

I've heard some really good stuff about Rift. I've done alot of searching to find info on this mmo and its features but can;t find anything on crafting. I assume that crafting will be released after the release of Rift and housing will be added as well. Have they started beta and what new info can anyone add.

    Crafting will be in at launch, there will be :-

     


    Butcher

     


    Alchemist

     


    Armorsmith

     


    Light Weaponsmith

     


    Heavy Weaponsmith

     


    Outfitter

     


    Bowyer

     


    Artificer

     


    Miner

     


    Runecrafter

     


    Forager

     


    Crafting NPCs sell some reagents needed for their respective professions


    No tools needed, but crafting stations


    Up to 3 professions at a time.


    Housing will be introduced at a later date, maybe before the first planned expansion.


    Closed beta was due to start this month, no word as of yet however.

     


    Release date is penciled in for Qu1 2011 (march/april)

    It is heavily speculated on the official forums that houses are going to be planned, but the official word on housing is still that it is not planned at all.

    The game is still in alpha. There has not been any word about the start of beta yet.

    Thanks for the info. Rift looks and feels alot better then FFXIV in so many ways. The game play and design of rift makes a person feel like they can really sit and enjoy this game. I don't know alot but I like what I'm seeing the dev's are doing agood job.

     Scott Hartsman has stated quite specifically in videos that crafting will be in game at release, and that housing is not planned for release, and "may" be added later.

    I've watched a few interviews about Rift and I have a few question. Will all server have pvp or will a certain amount be pvp and a few pvp/pve and pve. Plus like most I like to raid I wonder what the raiding will be like.

    1) They will have PvP and PvE servers. PvP servers will be open world PvP. PvE servers will have designated areas for PvP (I.e., Port Scion) as well as instanced PvP.

    2) I'm pretty sure Trion hasn't shown anything on Raiding yet. You might want to check the Unofficial FAQ on the official forums. There is a link to it in the sticky at the top of this forum.
