As a few have said already I think that the next big game for me and most likely a lot of other people will be Guild Wars. This is becuase of its free subscription and its graphics which are quiet impressive.

hi guys iam a
im looking for the next big thing that will last a long while and may be will be skill based on or off line like eve is at the moment, its hard once you get used to it.
n eve online player, been on it for like 7 months but since i haven t joined when the game was released in 2003 its hard to catch up with half of eve players since the game is skill training related regardless if you are logged on or off.
Hehe, Guild Wars is hardly an MMO. It's a 3D representation of something like Battle.net or some other multiplayer server annoucment program.
Well, I'm of course looking forward to Gods and Heroes, as my signature points out nicely! But I'm also looking forward to MEO, but it's looking worse each time I revisit it
MEO, no offence but yuck. How many times can you have a game with elves in it before it gets stale? I think I'm bored of all the typical games. I want unique settings. Auto Assault's not looking too shabby. I'm wondering what they did to Tabula Rasa because last time I looked it over it looked boring. Guess we'll know after E3. Man I wish I could go to that!
--Ha, Pwned-- Pvp = godliness Playing: WoW Waiting on: Gods and Heroes
Both have things that im extremely atracted to. DnL for big world and the idea that you can actually alter the world by capturing areas from the other side, so a guild or a person can have profound effect on the game. PotBS is just awsome, its a category all on its own.
Being an old Ultima fan, I'm really looking forward to seeing where Tabula Rasa is going. The old TR looked interesting, but not like something I'd expect from Garriott. Hopefully, he's playing a bigger designer role and the new look and systems will be great.
Here's hoping anyways.
It's amazing though, for a game to completely back off and change after years of development. Only Richard Garriott could pull that sh*t off. NC Soft has deep pockets indeed...
Originally posted by ste2000 I am looking forward for 2 titles: 1) Vanguard (Saga of Heroes), It could be the real successor of EQ 2) Dark & Light , good RP game. It looks quite immersive Big disappointent: Guild Wars, It will get boring after 3 months
/agree on the Guild wars comment. Pretty looking but OMG im bored to tears already. They had better add depth to the game or people will lose intrest as fast as soon as they buy it.
Havent heard anything about vanguard.
Dark and light should be good as long as the pvp areas borders arent extremely easy to exploit and "owning" a realm means you have to fight constantly to keep it.
A pvp game with a stale-mate environment is the fastest way to end said game. (best example ever is Shadowbane.. devs didnt listen to player base, made cities and assets far too easy to keep and the result was 60% of the player base leaving.)

Why do you say Guild Wars isn't an MMO?
Hundreds of thousands of players played it online the previous World Preview event.
Playing now: Cities: Skyline / Ori and the Blind Forest / Banished
For me "next big game" is what you play the most. So for me my next big game is this 2: RYL: Path of the Emperor, Why? Because RYL has a good PvP mode, and they also have a $1 million tournament. THe next is MU online, Why because this game is completely free. MU global... these are the games that I play most...
Dont ask what you think is good for you. Ask what he thinks is good for you

Hey guild wars fans, not to come rain on your parade but I did ask "What upcoming subscription games". Some good stuff in this thread besides that.

I'm in the same boat as you, hapwned, playing WoW, getting tired of it. I'm also lookin at Gods and Heroes, so we apparently are on the right track
Best part is the animations by far, so that should keep me pretty entertained with WoW-isms.
