Today i received my eu ce.
I have to say that everything loks cool.
The tumbler is awesome,the art book is magnificent and the map is of the best quality ive seen.It's not from paper but from very good quality sheet.Just like the ones u use to clean sunglasses and even better.
Anyway i m very pleased from the collectors edition although i would also like to have the soundtrack of the game.
Now i have to wait for my xtreme rig to arrive and im ready to set in eorzea.
hmm Should i play Metro 2033 in 3d or FFxiv in 3d?

Yeah CE is cool
i love the map. Very good quality and sucks that soundtrack is not in there but i bought it from store. Thats what i play in background when i play FFXIV.

This makes me sad to realize the only unique thing the NA CE got was some certificate they have to mail to you that gives you the info of your character in all fanciness... I could photoshop it. Sigh.
Anyways, grats to you and glad you're happy. And I'd rather do Metro 2033. I don't really thinkg FF14 lends itself to a grand 3d experience, or at least not as much as Metro 2033 would.
... Then again, I don't really like the 3d thing, so maybe I'm not the best to comment ^^
I ordered my boxed version yesterday (including the cool pre-order glasses). I was in doubt to order the EU CE, but I don't care too much anymore for the (paper) goodies you get with a CE (not to mention the 20 euro extra it'll cost me and most likely 25 euro import-tax as well since I order with play.com)...
I remember Tabula Rasa, where you got a coin, dogtags, a poster and a couple of very nicely printed maps. The maps I never used, the dogtag is not my thing, but I do like the coin (which is on my desk).
Then the EQ2 Shadow Oddyssey CE... I got a poster and a bear-mount miniature. The miniature is nice and on my desktop, but the poster I looked only once at.
I have some more games (MMO's and single-player) with extra's, all stuffed away, never to be looked at...
lol.
Eat that cheap crap that cost $2 to make. CE's are allways rubbish.
Yeah I received my one just recently (I love the map!) and I am waiting for my new PC to arrive so I can play it as well. Exciting times.

I payed 57€ incuding tranfer charges for the collectors from amazon.
While the standar was 50 in my country.
So for 7€ difference it worths 10 times.
i payed 33€ for standard including shipping(in EU) from gamestation.uk so CE is quite expensive :P
standard in my country will be around 45€ and in stock mid october

The tumbler you can buy for about $0.50 down the market, notebook was sweet looking for a 5year old maybe, but not exactly high quality and the map is printed on some cheap piece of polyester. Plus don't forget the faulty dongle some of us got that actually contributed to locking up the serial we paid for!
You do realize that except those little "special" items, what you get is exactly the same as you would have with a free 30-day buddy key.. My account got messed up because of a faulty dongle key, and I ended up using the buddy key for early access.
