Full Screen

PibiaNPibiaN Member Posts: 40

Hey all. I'm sure this has already been asked or I just didn't notice a way to fix it, but in the beta I couldn't get the game to maximize, it just took up half my screen and that's it. I could only see half the map. Has that been fixed or is there a way to maximize it? Again, I'm sorry if this question has already been asked and I have just not seen a thread about it or anything. Thanks.

go to start program files and under final fantasy click on config. You can change your video settings from there. It cannot be done in game. Also you cannot ALT + Tab in full screen mode the game will crash.

Another way is to open your final fantasy folder and double click the ffxiv configuration file.

There is no "video screen settings" in the game?

    Is there an options menu?

Yes there is an options menu, and also some video settings in game

But screen resolution is outside of the game in a seperate config program

Why would they require for their fans to go outside the game into the program files and into a separate config file to do something as simple as adjust the screen resolution?

Look, I love Final Fantasy.  I am not trying to be mean here.  But ... who does that nowadays?

    Don't know, don't really care.

Im not a fan boy and the game does have some problems but having to set your screen resolution before you log into the game does not seem that big of a deal to me

TBH, nothing is really that big of a deal so long as one is willing to put in the time.  But sometimes one has to fiddle a bit with the system before they get it just right.  And having to exit the game and go into program files and config files to adjust, then log in and if it isnt right having to do it all over again, and again, until it is satisfactory can get to be a bit much.

But if people don't have a problem with it, so be it.

    I understand what your saying.

Maybe its something to do with it also being released on PS3.

Maybe its because the developer is Japanese.

Who knows? I just work with what they give me lol

Look at it this way instead, If you change advanced graphic options from any OTHER title today, you will have to restart the client anyways for the new settings to take effect.

So then It should matter less knowing this !!
