DC Universe Online: The Man With the Fragile Ego

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

DC Universe Online devs have sent out eight brand new screenshots of ultra-bad boy Lex Luthor, arch nemesis of Superman. Luthor is out to prove to the world that brains, his brain in particular, are superior to brawn. He's out to get Superman any way he can and if the suit he's wearing in these screens is any indication, he's worked very hard to bring the battle to the Man of Steel.

Check out Lex Luthor's eight new screens in our DC Universe Online gallery.

    Meh.

Good graphics I guess. But the characters look like plastic toys.

Great job at hopping on this reveal guys!  The graphics do look great when close up.  The draw distance is very short on details though,  I don't know if the PC version will be scalable though, to increase details on far away objects.

Do you guys have any plans for interviews at NYCC?

I got a question, is the level of character customization the same as cox or champions online? Like can I control every aspect of my toons body? If not then I won't be leaving co

    Playing: Smite, Marvel Heroes
Played: Nexus:Kingdom of the Winds, Everquest, DAoC, Everquest 2, WoW, Matrix Online, Vangaurd, SWG, DDO, EVE, Fallen Earth, LoTRo, CoX, Champions Online, WAR, Darkfall, Mortal Online, Guild Wars, Rift, Tera, Aion, AoC, Gods and Heroes, DCUO, FF14, TSW, SWTOR, GW2, Wildstar, ESO, ArcheAge
Waiting On: Nothing. Mmorpg's are dead.

Yes, supposedly, if you can think it, you can create it.  This includes all the animal heads, and plenty of robotic and spandex costume styles... street clothes,  etc.

The level of customization is said to be on par if not better then CoX or CO.

One of the systems they will be implementing is the appearance system. Similar to Everquest 2. If you get a  new piece of gear and equip it your characters costume would change, but you can actually wear a second set of gear/costume. This way if you equip something which is ultra awesome but happens to be a pink shirt that says i love to cuddle bunnies, it doesn't screw with your dark knight theme.

That's cool, I was leaning more towards the ability to adjust the sizes of every part of my body like cox and co, but that's cool they will keep their appearance system

I keep seeing things that make me curious about this game, and then I remember its a SOE product.

As someone who played CoH/V many years I am very much looking foward to this. It does look neat, and the powers I read about sound interesting as well. I am not yet sure if I follow the goodies or give into my evil side. Well, maybe both. image

It has always perplexed me that Luthor, though certainly intended to be a 'brains over brawn' character, always seems to be a very brawny man—be it by musculature or that ridiculous Space Marine suit.
