What are you doing in the game now?
I ask because I am curious to see if perhaps there is something I could be focusing on.
I find myself logging on sitting in dal then logging off :/
If there is something I could be focusing on that would be awesome.

Honestly that's all there is to do. Raid...craft for money for the next raid...dick around in bgs/arena until it gets annoying because after years and years there's still no semblance of balance (and the novelty wore off long ago)...log off, then eventually quit.

Kinda WoW's thing. At least in my experiences and my guild's and my 15+ friends that play the game's. For how much they're banking you'd figure they'd add things constantly instead of just rehashing the same thing until the next xpack then after all that's worn out a month or two after release, doing it all over again. :/

The reason why your just standing there is because your tired of it!  I have been down this road 10,000,000 times.  Your tired of the work, because that is what it is; work.  You have run out of willpower. :)

Lol dang, ok then. Anyone know if cataclysm is gonna introduce anything that will make players that have been at 85 for a while not as bored as they are now sitting at 80 for a while?

That is what they are going to have to prove when Cataclysm comes out.  I got a feeling they are going to draw players attention to the old zones that are being remade and make PVP a big part of it without getting in an instance.  That will keep people busy, but the problem with level differences is going to be the biggest problem, just like it always was when Hillsbrad was the place to be for pvp.

Blizzard adding the new instance queue system has created a system that people will depend on for staying busy and they are not going to want to do quests anymore unless it is worth it.  People are tired of quests and they are getting tired of the constant instances already.  The new has worn off of this game and they are going to have to revive it more than improve it!

They've had 2 xpacks, and have yet to do so. My money is on no. The closest they've come is BOE stuff so you can level alts faster so you can raid twice instead of once. Then sit in Dal on two toons before you log off. (I was up to 3 before I quit)

This same complaint is made of almost every other MMORPG. After years (or months) of play, what do I do?

There are some exceptions. For example EVE.

But isn't all games the same in the end? No game has endless amount of new content. Once you played a new game for long enough you will end up in the same situation, be it WoW, Lotro, AoC etc.

I would have thought guild and community would play a big part of why you would return. Or what about moving to a PVP server, maybe that would provide something new?

    Play: -
Played: FFXIV, WAR, Allods, Aion, AoC, DDO, EQ2, GW, Lotro, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, WoW

not fair to compare it ith themeparks though.

Yes, well pretty silly to even bring EVE up in a thread about classic MMOs. To most it's inaccessible and got nothing in common with games like WoW.

EQ2 comes out with a new xpack every 6 months. Each one boasting the same if not more than WoW's xpacks and the subs are a fraction of WoW's.

Also, PvP servers don't offer anything new at all. That's all I ever played on and other than the occasional bored ganker, it's the same. Nobody does world PvP anymore.

Do you think EQ2 is more active in terms of players at the moment?

Levelling alts on horde and alliance to get max value for cash, no point in only seeing half the story.

Thanks all was just curious to see what others were enjoying in the game still, if anything :P

You all have made very valid points.

    Thank you

Active as in people doing things, yes, populationwise...well that's obvious haha. Plus the whole F2P thing (which for some reason just locks up and never downloads/patches for me), makes it hard to gauge honestly.

If I were you I would get gear and quest rewards you probably wont see anymore after the expansion not to mention old world mounts that will probably be gone. Do the timbermaw quests, and get the pet timbermaw, get the STV Tiger or raptor, get as much twink gear for your lowbies as possible from every location below 60 before its out.

Alot of quest chains and locations probably will be changed, level up mining on any low level Toon NOW chances are the Mithril sweetspots for below level 40 toons will be GONE, you charred vale circle runners know who you are. The quest chains behind and in Wetlands, Alteric Valley etc will be gone, like the hidden zone behind the castle in AV, which is where you get the stun water  trinket.. fun stuff for a lowbie to have. Create any rare gear that requires a quest like the warlock robes quest to get the recipe for the bad ass warlock twink robes.

RACK up on non bind on pick up items Items of the FANG, Items from Shadowfang keep.... I will wager the price of a Shadowfang Dagger AFTER the expansion will be UNGODLY. Farm any vanity pets like dragon hatchlings especially the Green one, because they might get cycled out.

    World events ...

Some raiding may be once a week.

I am in a low activity holding pattern waiting for catalysm. I am farming badges a bit whenever i like it though .. since they can be turn into justice points to buy L85 starting blues.

  • ShodanasShodanas Member RarePosts: 1,933

Well, i do the daily heroic and the Dun Niffelem daily quests on my 2 level 80's. I'll have plenty of gold when Cataclysm comes and 400 to 500 badges which will be converted to justice points. Maybe an icc raid once a week and some bg's. I need another 4K HK's for the 100K mark and achievement although i don't see it happen before the expansion comes.
