Is it only me or I find that there is not much jobs in this game... only 2 casting classes...4 melee 1 archer.. Dont know but in most new mmorpg there is then that.

Yes they will add more classes, look at FFXI plenty of classes there. I do feel however that more classes should have been available at launch. It really kinda sucks that those are the only ones, and they feel so freaking basic at that. :/

I am hoping that SE will add more classes soon. I really hope to see something along the lines of a Bard, which is a class that I really love, would be interesting.

I think it's pretty obvious they will add more classes. As far as content goes, Classes would be the cheapest addition with the most punch.

There are 18 classes in the game; plenty to keep you busy for awhile.

    1. Disciples of War: Pugilist, Gladiator, Marauder, Archer, and Lancer

    2. Disciples of Magic: Conjurer, and Thaumaturge

    3. Disciples of the Land: Miner, Botanist, and Fisher

    4. Disciples of the Hand: Carpenter, Blacksmith, Armorer, Goldsmith, Leather Worker, Weaver, Alchemist, and Culinarian

Yeah, but can you really count crafters as "classes"?

This game has 7 combat classes. That number is technically correct.

Who cares, the game is boring as hell. I painfully play the game because of my wife loves it and well, I love my wife. I just can't see the fun in this game.. So far the grind is far worse then Aion.. I'm Phys lvl 22, glad 16, mard 10, pug 10, bs 10, armor 10, arch 12 ..and some other crafting classes cause I needed glue and leather straps.

As your said your wive loves it, so it is not boring for her at elast. Which leads again to the unbeliveable conclusion that a lot of things in the world are subjective opinions.

I would have never thought that... :)

i feel like I did 8 years ago.. When I first stepped into Vana'diel.  A game hasn't given me that much excitement in 8 years.  This game is going to be great.  Will have a great population for the future, just like FFXI.  All the same type of hate, yet 8 years later its still one of the only games from its era still being taken care of, content released, and an active subscriber base.

I'm having a ton of fun.  Did my leve quests, did some fishing, did some cooking.. feels like FFXI to me.  The people enjoying the game are in game enjoying it, not on the forums bitching.  I just have to go to work, or i'd be playing :D

I'm a bit lost myself on why the crafting in this game is counted as a class.  What makes them need their own class?  What's the difference between a crafting "class" and a normal tradeskill/crafting skill/etc.?

Short of some really logical reason for them to be an actual class (aside from their 1 ability each to avoid a specific mob), I kinda have to go with the other two here; there are 7 combat classes and 11 crafting ... whatevers.  That's not to say that 7 is a bad number, but with the armory system it seems a bit light.  Obviously they'll add more with time, and likely have a quest to unlock them, but when?

Hard to tell when the others are added,a s far my knowledge is that Summon classes are planned and wanted by them to be added.  Most certainly the rifle useing class tehy intend will come out soon,  there is a shop and a guild already  there for them but for the when I have no idea aside of some assumtion that some are likely added before the PS3 release.

Anyway as said it is only a guess from my side.

I absolutely hate people that use this line.  The above poster appearently enjoys the game and found the time to make a post however, other people that enjoy the game can not find the time to make posts? Only epeople that don't enjoy the game?

FFXIV was released with hardly any content... I honestly believe WOTLK expansion added more new content to WoW than the FFXIV launch all together.  Content(pve events excluding grinding and pvp events) is generally what keeps players from becoming bored with an MMO and a single quest line every 10 ranks (which does not last a full 10 new ranks therefore you have long 'intermissions' between the next chain) and a few leves puts FFXIV as one of the most content lacking MMO out there.  It is not impossible for a lot of players to easily become bored with such a game.

When I think of FFXIV and what was designed ingame to actually be fun, I come up with nothing.  Players can enjoy FFXIV but just consider people still play games that should have died a long time ago because they somehow enjoy them too.
