This game almost looks to good to be true!!

I did not have the opportunity to play GW 1, as I was too busy raiding in WOW to even give it a second look which, looking back was unfortunate but now that I quit wow vowing to never return (uninstalled it about 6 months ago)  I cannot see why this will not be the game of the future based on all the things I have read and have seen so far.  While WOW was / is a good game, GW2 seems to promise to deliver a lot more variety than strickly a cookie cutter MMO such as WOW and others to some degree.  Only time will tell if all the features they are stating will be as good as they seem but from what I have been reading so far and all the positive responses and reviews from people............this game WILL be a huge success bar none.

Here wishing ANET all the success moving forward with this project and hope all their efforts provide success for them in the future.  Looks like they have created a new mold that a lot companies will now or should be following in future productions.

Really looking forward to this one.

Even shit sometimes has corn in it. That's content.

Sometimes poo is soft and other times it's rock hard, that's variety.

Actually the only thing FFXIV even has in common with crap is that it stinks.

A lot will, in my opinion, depend on the community of players.  GW1 has a good base, so if that carries over it should be good.  GW1 is heavily instanced and that does turn a lot of people off.  The new features I have seen look good and should prove interesting.  We'll see.  Of course who knows when it will launch, so playing it is just a dream atm.

    Currently bored with MMO's.

The community is no longer a factor for me. My experiences have lead me to one conclusion: all MMO communities suck and you just have to plough through the garbage to find the right people :P Although this seems to be true for all online games! I haven't played MMOs in a quite while and started playing shooters and RTS (SC2 :P). And well, the community in those games sucks as well ^_^

I tried GW1 but didn't like the heavy instancing or the lack of large scale PVP.

I am really looking forward to GW2 and love that they have taken care of those problems I had with GW1. Not only that, but they have also made many other changes, all that I think are going to make a GREAT game.

Oath! I never played the original Guild Wars... but the level of excitement for this game for me, exceeds 'double-rainbow'.

GW2 isn't aimed at GW1 players, its aimed at as much playes as possible, which would make it an easy accesible fun place to be.... But some parts of the game will also turn on the hardcore players...  Competitive PvP for example.

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

GW2 will be very different than GW1. Yes, the lore, races, classes and skills may be the same or similar, but the size and scope of the world, the combat mechanics, and the personal story will make GW2 much better.

If I were you I would not even think about downloading GW1. In fact take everything you heard or know about gw1 and erase it from your mind.

GW2 is gonna be its own game and have a whole different feel and look to it. For the better I might add.  It will be a whole new concept, with maybe some gw1 story and a small portion of things from GW1 perhaps.  All the good things and the bad ideas are out the window.
