I really do wanna like eve. But its sooooooo ssssssssssssssssssllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwww.
What can i do to help me get the most outa eve
Is it just me or does it seem like theirs no emotion to the game due to the lack of actual persons to interact with?
Also, I know that eve is a very open ended game, but can some one name the main "paths" you can take in the game, like
1. you can fight and stuff
Or somthing tell me what you can really do in eve besides combat cause it just seems.....eh
Im a sci fi fan, i play medieval based mmorpgs but i'd rather play eve, but it feels too....european for me.
Please help me!
either that or bring back earth and beyond, now THAT was a good space game, simple, stupid. like a massively multiplayer singleplayer game

Smoking some weed would probably make it more entertaining.

Join a corp. There's a recruitment section on the forums and a recruitment channel in game. Then you will have like minded people, hopefully with a common goal. Team mining, PvP, teaming for missions and complexes, etc.

Usualy, I wouldn't downplay what Desalus said in the above post but, ugh, recent experiences of just that very thing got my geddon pop and me podded ... seems I don't quite react very quickly ... or very well when under the influence ... lol.
Oh yeah, the point, smoking up + EVE = bad. Gave me once hell of a bad trip to see "Entering Cloning Station" ... Oh well, at least I got a quick trip back to empire space.

It really takes around 5 months before you can really enjoy the true nature of EVE which is major fleet combat in 0.0.. Kind of boring until then.
Make a difference!

Because Eve is so open ended joining a corp makes a huge amount of sense. There is often a path for a player, start in Empire space before heading to 0.0.
Eve is imo the best mmo out there, but its still the people that make the difference. Work out the sort of player you are and pick your corp accordingly. I would also avoid corps smaller than 50 people to ensure that theres always activity on the corp channel, not much point joing a corp to then discover that no one is on when you are.
Well first you need to buy a account lol second if you cant stand the Hardcore politics in the game then this game is not for you. I quit because people would be trippin all over the place like its RL more then any mmorg ive ever seen and also it was kinda pointless to me.
Wow, I don't know who you were talking to or who you ticked off, but I haven't once met a person who wasn't willing to chat in a friendly manner with me, even if they were "the enemy". Ah well, it must have been your charming personality and I have no clue what that has to do with politics.

I want to play EVE,becuase of the space aspect, which is why i was tempted to buy JtL, but i don't think i'm going to get either of them, ebcause i'm sure i'll be disapointed. Is there a reason why i should get eve?
Maharba, just go through the older posts of this forums and I'm sure you'll find some very interesting arguments in favor of EVE. Believe me, your not the first person to have their doubts and probably won't be the last but, just read up on some old conversations and you'll find some good information.
As for people not being friendly, even myself I haven't seen that. Sure, there's the occasional little sprat that swears it up on local during fleet ops cause his brain can't grasp the concept of using strategy to not get blown up and not just flying as fast as possible at your ennemy. But that being said, even during major battles, ennemies usualy salute a good fight and have even made a few friends in corps and alliances who wish nothing more than the demise of my own. Sure we blow each other up but, we always keep it respectful because there is only a very small percentage of EVE players that are actually willing to go into full out combat now a days.

I have to agree about the community with previous posts. Most people are quite polite, but their are of course the jerks in some places but they're rare. I know i was attacked by a pirate once while i was in an industrial ship, he was quite the "gentleman" pirate. He asked for money, politely in proper english no less, guaranteed my safey afterwards and after all was said and done said a polite farewell. Most enjoyable experience i've had when being robbed at gun point!
