Here is a good question.

Ok stick with me for a few. All the problems in game now have been around since closed beta, save for the lag from the amount of people. My question is: Why hasn't anything been done before the retail release? They had an open beta which shed light on even more issues, nothing really done, yet again, CE came, nothing done, retail came STILL nothing done. People keep saying that SE knows FF14 has failed, and they just trying to milk it before people quit in droves. I've already cancelled and won't be buying the game most likely....yet anyway. I am thankful I had a buddy key and didn't waste 80 US on the CE, or the cheaper normal retail. You know the game has issues when the japanese who are useually the most final fantasy nuts have been rating the game at an averge of 36% out of 100 or 1.5/5 stars.

Anyway here is a hint: to a company money talks, if alot of people don't sub they will probally get to fixing the issues much faster to keep what players stayed. Me? I'll probally pick the game up in 6 months to a year if its still around. Kinda makes me sad I was waiting for FF14 for so long.. and IMO the game should have had at least 4-6 more months of beta to iron out the last issues, the game has now been marked by mmorpg players and thats a stigma that will probally never go away.. Hell Mention Anarchy Online, and first thing that comes to most real mmo players minds (Current generation introed to mmo's thru WoW don't count)was how bad the game was at launch and how they never bothered to try it again to see if it got better.

"An MMORPG could be completely diffirent from WoW. Just look at games like Dofus, Wizard101 or EVE. But as it is, most of the Western MMOs are trying to succeed by out-WoWing WoW. It's like an army of 10 sports games made about same sports, and barely none about other sports. WoW clone is an accurate description of those games, it manages to convey much information with only two words."

Some peoples always believe in magic patch at launch.  Fact is magic patch dont exist.  It's not because you play in beta and experience problems that all of the sudden on launch everything will be fixed.   They need time i guess, you can only fix so many things in a few weeks.  Game is not even a  month old, give it some time.

After some time, the game will vanish and people will jump in another MMO. Perhaps, people from WOW will stick to its new expansion "after some time".

The game developer is responsible for its laziness and incapacity to fix the major bugs before its release. I am not really the hard-core wow fan boy but i just wanna say Blizzard really excels in fixing the stupid bugs up before its final release. Most of the time, the game is pretty good in the close-beta stage. If SE cannot polish the game well, just wait and fix them and release it later. Releasing this kinda unfinished game won't really help the game gain any popularity but only speeds up its death.

IMO Tanaka blew it when he left other incompetent people in charge.

The amount of time this game needed is whenever they get the PS3 version correct. The difference is that the PC version they can keep adding patches fixes, the PS3 version has to pretty much be done right from day 1.So when they finally get the PS3 version done, you will have a pretty good indication that they know what they are doing.

Square has already put a very large time line on the PS3 version,i wouldn't even count on that deadline. This tells me they are really lost and need a lot of time to get things right in this game.IDk it might have been Tanaka that made the final decision to release without the PS3,but the amount of money they gain from the PC release might be lost in the long run,so imo they should have waited for that simultaneous release they promised.Myself i am not going to join the PS3 release, the population will be thin for the low levels, the market will already be unstable and broken. The market will be flooded,so the new players joining in will have a hard time making any profit in sales,it is always a tough go joining a game 6+ months after release. This is why games that gain a bad reputation on release NEVER recover.

This is Square's new flagship game, they show the customers their true face, this might not only hamper this game, but FF fans over all their products. The last two console games they have released were also god awful,so yes Square has lost my confidence big time.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

In my opion they are milking the pc players now and will relie on console players to keep it going. They know several other mmo's are coming out soon. Business is Business
