I was surprised to find that it doesn't seem possible to buy Diamonds to use in the Cash shop online here in Europe. Has it always been difficult to buy them? Seems a bit odd having to go down to a shop to topup a game card only to go back and spend it at home.. is there no way of using credit / debit cards online instead?

Credit cards are available for buying diamonds (i used it before, just checked now - are still available). Just diamonds bough using credit card will be locked - so can be used to buy CS items, but cannot be used to made gifts/traded to other player.
Are you looking at the European servers? Because I can see it's possible in the US, but here in Europe there seems to be no option for it.

Strange? I've not heard anybody else complain about this.
It's very odd. I think the accepted Paypal and possibly credit cards before. But now they only accept really weird payments which require you to go to a actual shop, top up a card and then apply it online. No way at the moment to actually buy or use their shop online.

Well that does indeed make the game suck, sucks even more that bags can only be rented. =p
Just go to http://www.runesofmagic.com/en/diamonds.html and buy them? There are options for paying with credit/debit cards, paypal, paysafe cards, sms/phone call and bank transfer.

no, that's what I'm saying. There is NO option for credit cards or even paypal. The only options they have now are:
Ukash
Pay by SMS
Bank transfer (takes a week)
Wallie Card
Paysafecard
DirectEbanking (which asks for your online banking details including password!!!)
I noticed the rental for bag space. That does suck.

What server are you on? Because i just checked, and i can buy diamonds with the options i mentioned before. I'm on the English PvE server Siochain.

It may be possible. If some paying options has problems on account (failed transactions few times) than may become automatic disabled for account. In that case, you can contact support for reactivate such option.
Or you just checked only on amount of diamonds, which has no credit card option (paying options depends also from amount of diamonds, some very low or very high numbers have paying options limited to only some of all).
Do they have good coverage with the prepaid cards? It is imo better solution for both sides than the inferior locked diamonds the CCs give you.
Are you sure you're looking at EU servers?
I just checked again, tested different amounts of diamonds and they all have the same payment options. None include credit or debit cards. The only way currently is by prepaid cards from a newsagent or shop. Oh and another dodgy option were you have to put in your online banking details.
It can't have been disabled on just my account as I've never tried to make any other transactions, i.e. there has not been any opportunity for it to fail. It seems incredibly stupid to make it so difficult to spend real money in a shop dependant game.

Most villages or towns will have a shop you can topup the game cards in, but you still have to go and find the shop and hope they will have one of the options that they accept available. It seems very much USA centred game as they allow all types of payment options on those servers.
