Anchors aweigh, me hearties! Uncharted Waters Online has officially launched and ships are hitting the open sea in this history-based MMORPG. To celebrate the game's launch, the team is implementing a new event commemorating Columbus's voyage to America. Players finishing the route will receive prizes and in-game gold. They will also be entered into a give away with a $4,000 cruise ticket as the grand prize!

Set between the Fifteenth- and Seventeenth-centuries, Uncharted Waters Online players will have the chance to conquer hundreds of neutral cities to ensure that their nation becomes the world’s leading power. Sailors can choose to fly the flag of one of six nations: England, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Portugal or Venice, buying or building ships to ready for battle, trade routes or exploration of new worlds. Featuring nearly endless lands to visit, thousands of artifacts to discover and more than 75 professions and 100 skills to master, Uncharted Waters Online offers ample game play for hardcore and casual players alike.

Very boring game . If you like EvE you might like this except that there is very little focus on combat, so I wouldn't recommend playing a battle type class. It's a game for people who like to watch their ship sail for hours on end while trading between towns. Don't think you can cheat and leave your ship floating, random events force you to be there every boring minute of the way pretty much.

This is a really cool contest, content wise and the reward as well.

I wish I could play this game. The game guard or whatever it's called gets so much negative publicity that I'm hesitant to keep it on my computer. If they didn't have game guard I'd definitely be playing it.

At least they're upfront about it being rough (well, not directly...) - "UWO introduces you various cash shop items to smoothen your gameplay."

I liked the original version of the game that was for the Nintendo or Supernintendo.

Not sure that I'd give this one a try because of the Netmarble software/IM that you have to install and becuase I don't want to roll the dice on how necessary their item mall is.

"Many nights, my friend... Many nights I've put a blade to your throat while you were sleeping. Glad I never killed you, Steve. You're alright..."

that game guard juke or whatever it is called doesn't even allow me to create a character before it throws me out of game. Have no idea if game is good, can't get into the game. Literially

They need to work on their ads and localization. I've found quite a bit of broken English.

With Pirates of the Burning Sea giong free to play soon, I think I'd rather play it. Much better ship combat, economy, etc.
