For Cataclysm, I think they are planning 2 distinct patches to get their servers ready... The first one only applies to skills and the second world changes the game world isnt it? I would personnally stay away until any new content is added since no mods will work and/or Gearscore may remain a prerequisite to get into a group.
Aion isn't an option for me. I found the game classes just unfun to play. Its a toss up right between subbing for Vanguard for a month, playing Lotro till the WoW patch hits, or playing GW1 or a combo of all 3. I was contemplating a free trial of Fallen Earth jsut to see if the combat still feels wacked but I don't know.
GW1 is a co-op, so not sure if you want that. Never played Lotro, but thought about it. Fallen Earth was tbqh, boring as hell. I would play FF14 before I play fallen earth again.

Is this a FTP? and if so, is it like every other FTP out there? All mechanics and no story/atmosphere?
Nevermind. It's only available to EU or other eastern countries. It's not available for the US. Too bad, it looked interesting. Kind of like Aion but with cutscenes that last longer that 5 seconds and have actual purpose.
I look forward to similar posts after SWtOR, Rift, and GW2 release from people who continually do not have realistic expectations of the games they are buying because they just get all hyped up instead of following the information that is coming out.
I will continue waiting until games offer free trials and that way never spending money on something I do not like while at the same time giving the game time to polish up and fix its issues.
I picked up Team Fortress 2 and borrowed Darksiders from a friend. Great games. Waiting for that Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, GW2 and Dark Millenium online. Gonna feel like forever even with those 2 awesome games... well Dark Millenium anyhow. I've been waiting for a 40k MMO for years and its gonna take FOREVER to release, lol.

That didn't answer my post. I did try the game in beta and was hoping post launch would see content added. Can't blame a guy for expecting a company like Square to actually deliver like they normally do, except this time around, it seems they are not the Square I have come to know. Besides, I'm not griping about buying it just that it's not a fun game and is not going to be able to fill the gap in MMOs that I was hoping it would till Cata, GW2, Rift and SWTOR come out.
In other words, answer the post and leave the negativity elsewhere,
Important facts: 1. Free to Play games are poorly made. 2. Casuals are not all idiots, but idiots call themselves casuals. 3. Great solo and group content are not mutually exclusive, but they suffer when one is shoved into the mold of the other. The same is true of PvP and PvE. 4. Community is more important than you think.
Yep, IF I could get past level 17 and the mission I'm on, seems the missions get really tough to go solo and I don't know anyone in GW. Would be great to get into a guild with other "noobs" to experience it all with.

Of course not but MMOs take a long time to patch up so put the game away for a while. You probably should have waited until after you actually heard they fixed it up but there is not much to do about it now.
Anyways, either try something you havn't played yet, grind up some of those GW points for GW 2 or play a different kind of game for a while, CIV 5 and Starcraft 2 are both pretty good.
Or do something off line for a while, some boardgame evenings with your buddies and a couple of Guiness, read a few good books, go to the pub or whatever. It is pretty nice to get a break from gaming once in a while and spend a few months doing analog things instead, and it will be more fun to get back into the games after that anyways.

Really? Even in Nightfall?
It used to be pretty easy anyways to get PUGs.
I will get more spare time the next month myself so I plan to get back into it myself, maybe we could get a gang from here... But I am pretty busy for the next 4 weeks so I wont be in until after that.
Still, I have a feeling that there are a lot of people here that might be interested. Maybe running a mission or 2 every day would be perfect so we can get our Black widows and the rest of the stuff, I just have the armor right now (I like how you can check BTW).

Just bought Eye of the North. Now to find a guild that I gel with and yeah, sounds good if we can get some people from the forums here together that would be cool. Not like we are in a rush with GW being no sub and plenty of time till GW2 hits. I just want to be able to pop in and get missions done though on my full character list. I'm stuck on the missions in Prophecies. I do have an assassin and dervish at 20 but once you hit the 20+ quests, they get rough as well.
Basically I just want to play GW but get a nice group of people to play with as it seems to be the only MMO I have ever had this much trouble with in finding folks to play with.

Well, it is the problem with instances, you don't run into people in the same way as you did in EQ. DDO is the same thing.
I just got to hall of monuments myself to lock in my stuff, I had really quit GW a year before and were into EQ 2 at the moment so I have pretty much to do their too. I also have some stuff to do in factions still, did that huge dragons a few times with pretty bad PUGs but never got through it and gave up since I never got enough people for it afterwards.
EVE online ... although it is completely different from the other games you've played. Dunno what to say besides that, you've played every mmo i can think of.
Playing: EVE Online Favorite MMOs: WoW, SWG Pre-cu, Lineage 2, UO, EQ, EVE online Looking forward to: Archeage, Kingdom Under Fire 2 KUF2's Official Website - http://www.kufii.com/ENG/ -

Yeah, I've played Eve too, like I said I'm an MMORPG junkie, if you name an MMO I haven't played it's either brand new or really obscure.
Eve while offering some really great ideas and setting, just isn't my cup of tea. I need more action oriented space combat and such. Black Prophecy is looking good as is Jumpgate Evolution...but who knows when those games will launch, hehe.
RoM, DDO, LOTRO, and pretty much any other F2P game. i thought GW would keep me busy until Rift came out, but i beat all the campaigns in a month....so now it's back to RoM.

Ack damn, I'm out of MMO options for you

I'm playing LotRO, and enjoying it very much.

Playing EQ, new expansion coming out next week, one of the better expansions in the recent years.
EQ1-AC1-DAOC-FFXI-L2-EQ2-WoW-DDO-GW-LoTR-VG-WAR-GW2-ESO
Now would be a good time to play Guild Wars to load up your Hall of Monumants.

Oderint, dum metuant.

For now I will continue to play WoW. I have a few things left to accomplish, then I will just run BGs or build up some gold.
Been playing Darkfall with a couple of friends, it's been enjoyable. Darkfall is more of a commitment than some other games out there.
AOC was a really good game, quit because my friends did. But definitely enjoyed it solo for a while.
