WoW community vids rock! I can't wait.

I find it funny that haters actually waste time reading and posting in WoW-related threads.

from WoW: Thanks for the bump!

I for one won't be buying this expansion, community is shit, playing the same old stuff all the time, sitting in the cities bored out of your brains, it's start to get to be an addiction. I guess it will all be the same once you reach 85 in a matter of afew days and got all the best items, as its so easy and not a challenge anymore.

Im sorry to have to say this but some of you 'WoW Haters" as youve been called got to relise:

You old timers got kick out the door by blizzard as they welcomed in the legion of younger gamers that are more open minded sometimes it seems. Get over it. The old timers in Classic are now the minority. Be mature and relise even if you want it to return to the good ol days it wont. Nothing lasts forever, nothing. If you enjoyed WoW in Classic good for you. I did too but I like it in Wrath a bit more. Why? My personal prefrence and reasons. Sorry but Blizz has let you go. Stay if you still enjoy WoW like me and go if you dont.

I like the idea by Blizz! This gets customers involved in their product. Sure its more professional do get marketing to do it but hey they decided hey WoW is much as your game as it is ours! Also being in touch with the community is essential for MMOs.

I wonder Mogcat if you'll be agreeing to your statement say oh 2 or so years from now when they change WoW again, This time not in favor of what you want? It's okay to say people should adapt but to diss the crowd you'll eventually join is not having much foresight. As you said nothing last forever and "your" version of WoW won't either. All i'm saying is don't burn your bridges incase you have to cross em again.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

    They should take this one

  • EzhaeEzhae Member UncommonPosts: 735

It's a nice initiative for aspiring artists however the more 'professional' part of industry usually frowns on such contests. Why ? Because they have to spent several hours of work they give to someone for free. Hopefully tho, this time they will actually judge the works themselves and not give it to the Facebook crowd like it happened with Propaganda contest, and hopefully original art means actually art made by people and not copypasted screenshots ran through several photoshop filters.

blizz makes about $7 mil a day and they cant spend a little of that on a commercial?!?!?!

  • DragimDragim Member UncommonPosts: 867

I wonder if they do this so they can blame the failing of cataclysm on the players rather than take responsibility for themselves?  But then again, if cataclysm is a success, they can thank themselves and not the players.  Well, one player will get thanked via a laptop.  Who plays MMOs on a laptop anyways? (I know some do, but that was more of a joke)

Yup  because we all know its not going to recieve endless praise and awards plus numbers but rather will be hailed internationally as a huge failure.

They can and most likely are they want their players to be part of it. Whats wrong with that. Its a great PR idea.

Um, it's not for free.  It's a contest.  People like to enter contests, people like to win contests.  Blizzard has the means to create a contest.  Also, this is not the ONLY marketing they will do.

Yes, I know the quote is a troll, but strangely the majority of other people in the thread are ignoring the whole CONTEST thing.

  • mmoguy43mmoguy43 Member UncommonPosts: 2,770

Well yeah... a contest where only the grand prize winner gets more than rewarded for the time spent on making the video and only 4 additional Blizminions can get something.

It would be a cool story to hear that the person that wins the contest doesn't even play WoW but just needed the money.

They will change it again and again its going to happen for sure. If I like the changes or am indifferent I will keep playing. If I dont I will leave and not make a huge fuss over the internet. Its so simple.

My some of us are world of warcraft haters or at least flamers sure world of warcraft has surpassed a lot of mmorpgs.  But for those of us who can remember that far back the only mmorpg there was before world of warcraft was Everquest.  And Everquest basically was the only online mmorpg out there before Asherons Call and World of Warcraft showed up on the scene.  And to be honest world of warcraft isn't that bad of a game.  Sure blizzards account security could be improved but that is basically my only pet peeve in relation to blizzard entertainment.  And i think it only fair that they ask their player community to get involved and spread the word about cataclysm.

I guess birds of a feather huh.......

I like how the fact that's it's a contest for fans to showoff a little is lost to his misguided sarcasm and your equally foolish praise of it.

This is pretty cool of blizzard, I doubt they won't make an ad of their own, but having extra publicity with player (or not) created ads is a great way to spread the Cata news.
