Wow.. I am really impressed with SOE lately. They have really been working hard on developing all of there MMORPGS. EQ2 is nothing like when it launched. Its almost a completely new game. SWG is getting TONS of updates.. expansion and the Combat Upgrade. Planetside is always changing, like that patch that made all the islands planets.
Has anyone else noticed that SOE is really making a strong move in the MMORPG buisness?

yes i have, and i really think it has a lot to do with WoW. SOE finally has a serious competitor in the market and they realize what that means. i have been extremely pleased with SOE lately.

yes i think they will. i think sony has finally started to take their games/customers very seriously.

My guess is the PvP implementation.
New expansion, couple new servers, in other words I am guessing what will be announced has already been leaked mostly. I'm guessing on the new servers thing though.
They may have a completely consensual PvP implementation that negates the need to create new servers for it. We'll see.

What could it be, I wonder? Opening up the game world and adding a couple of cities would be nice. Dropping the abstract HO wheel and trimming down some of the redundant attack abilities would help. Doing something to differentiate magic from ordinary abilities would be an improvement (i.e., a regular sword attack shouldn't give us flaming sword graphics). Tossing in a few racial abilities at level one would add flavor to this game. They do all that and I may come back.
My guess is they are opening up a new land (like a Kunark-type island) and hopefully having a new city so folks can base somewhere besides Qeynos or Freeport.
I don't know. If I had one wish about this game it would be that they'd simply redraw the entire world with a general geography more like the original Norrath. Oh, some things would be changed after 500 years, but there would be multiple starting cities and lots of choices for where to adventure.

I've been impressed at the momentum they got in content updates. Live update 7 hit servers nearly 14 days ago? I havent checked eq2 forums yet, but update 8 can't be far from testservers. I doubt they can keep up that speed, its a massive update every 3 weeks.
And its that speed that make me look forward to them unveil the first expansion for this game. Expansions is supposed to be groundbreaking and really add to the game. Not only 10 more levels to grind like the standard expansions, but something that add to the gameplay. For a young game like EQ2 it shouldnt be "just" end game stuff either.
My guess is that the "secret" is the first expansion to the game, and that the "pvp" is part of that expansion.
Yeah.. But it would be very cool if they have made new armour skins.. (like that ever goin' to happen, but u can still hope)..
