My friend and I recently found a little gem of a F2P game called Runes of Magic, and I'm looking for someone interested in playing it with us. Its basically a free version of WoW, with an item shop. We won't be spending any real money in the game at all; whatever disadvantage that puts us at we'll just deal with it. We play on the PvP server Grimdel. The PvP server has minor PvP looting (under certain circumstances, a random item you have equipped or in your bag can be looted by your enemies), open world pvp, instanced pvp, and guild vs guild siege PvP. I play often in the 10pm-5am EST time period, my friend plays at less regular times. We're both new to the game but we'll help you get started as well. If interested, please:
1) Be 18+ and mature
2) Have a working mic and be willing to use Ventrilo (we have our own server, the program is completely free)
That's it. Please post here if interested, or with any questions.
Note that this thread is not a review of Runes of Magic, please refrain from posting how much you love/hate the game, the reasons its great/terrible, etc. etc.

I might give it a shot. I'm in the UK though, but i'm sure I can arrange similar times
I played Runes of Magic, and to be honest it seemed like a great game for being F2P although empty servers killed it for me. Maybe I just got unlucky and picked a crappy server to level in, but playing through the whole game solo seemed incredibly tedious. Not that WoW is much better, but there IS more people around.
Having fun playing this till cata comes out.

I still play RoM. it's a decent game. a lot of bugs though. if you party with someone and level, you are actually hurting yourself. you will be splitting xp. what i would do, is get into a decent guild and they can help you when you need it. help you learn about the game as well. you don't really need to use the cash shop in game if you don't want to. for the endgame content, it makes it a lot easier though, and faster. you can farm gold up and buy the cash shop crap from people too though, so it's not that big of an issue. the mounts are something you would want to buy in the CS also, but people sell 30 day mounts for really freekin cheap. you can farm daily items for like 2 hours and have a mount for the month. it's a nice deal. good luck with RoM. if you have any questions in game, hit me up. add me to your friends list and i can try and point you in the right direction. and servers are anything but emplty. 4 million+ players now.

on a side note though, i don't play this as much as i did. the game has gotten stale imo. end game content is easy, and there's no reason to continue playing until the new content comes out. i feel as though i've "beaten" this game, which should never happen in an mmorpg. if you don't use the cash shop though, i don't think you would have this issue.
On the PVE servers you'd be OK not spending any cash, but you are definitely going to feel some pain on the PVP server when someone has 40% more HP's on their level 25 cash shopped Rogue than you'll have on your 37 Paladin (happened to me)
But ROM is a top shelf game for a F2P so its a good choice in that regard.
And things may have changed, I played long ago during the first few months of going "live" and perhaps they've lessened the advantage of the rich vs the poor some.
