I'm a fan of MO but darkfall easily wins, MO is in no state to be a released game and is very broken and incomplete at the moment. Again, darkfall was like that at release some would even say worse but adventurine has improved the game a ton and is still going full force trying to make it a great game so I applaud them for that and at this point of time darkfall feels like a fairly stable game and is being polished up quite nicely. But we'll see in about a year, by that time many of the planned MO features should be in and we'll see how everything looks then but yes darkfall easily has an advantage due to being released i believe 1.5 years earlier.

    skillcap vs no skillcap

Darkfall is a mmofps and MO is a mmorpg, the only thing the games have in common is the fantasy setting. Mortal Online is very unfinished as Darkfall has already received some polishing. I have to admit I had more fun at the Darkfall release then at the Mortal Online release.

There's no real comparison here: DF wins. MO was released way, way too early and still needs a lot more love. DF still needs love too, but it is a more polished, fun game.

That said, I still hope SV can pull a rabbit out of their hat and make MO the awesome game it looked like it was going to be. We need more sandbox MMOs. Actually, what we need is a handful of good sandbox MMOs. EVE is already there and looks to be getting better with age. Now hopefully DF, MO and the upcoming Earthrise can pull through and give us some gaming options.

Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981

I played both games for a short while and here is what I felt after each of them.

Darkfall - Has potential but needs more RPG to feel like an MMORPG, but  was pretty fun from day 1 even.

Mortal Online -  Paid alpha testing.  I have never played such a buggy, slow, ugly, and generally unfun game ever.  I really wanted to like it but I just couldn't take it.

    Just my opinion.  :)
