Are those who think that anthropomorphic playable animal races in MMORPGs are animals.
IIt would be nice to see new races that are based off not external animals but instead would be based off of mystical anthropomorphic races

Such as? What would be some examples that you would use?

Is the thread title a question?
Is the first sentence in your post a question?
Why can't you use question marks?
Sooooo ... what is this thread about ?
Anyone ?
Please ?
There you go fixed it!
Anyway men are primates
No they are pixelated Avatars, as in not amimals
To what benifit? Kitsune? Dragon?
Another great example of Moore's Law. Give people access to that much space (developers and users alike) and they'll find uses for it that you can never imagine. "640K ought to be enough for anybody" - Bill Gates 1981
I mean mystic anthropomorphic beings, creations beyond humans and animal races, or a paradox of a human and animal hybrid with original creative qualities

Animal men are Humans. Since humans are animals...therefor animal men are humans.

Every single race in a MMO seems to be coming from some edition of the D&D/AD&D Monster manual and that is pretty boring in itself but I am not sure what kind of races you would like?
Mythological ones like Norns or Disir?
Or folk lore ones like Sidhes and Kitsune?
Or weird ones that looks really foreign and just exist in the game? Like the Asura in GW.
I don't mind some originality in MMOs myself, and if they want to use elves they should go more back to the origins from Norse mythology or make some other twist, Forgotten realm elves are a dime a dozen.
But the same go for most MMO lore, it is so affected by D&D that you know what to expect.
Such an easy question. Everyone knows all men are pigs. Thread solved!
I want to play as a grey in an MMO. Seeing as all greys look alike (oooohh rascism!) you wouldnt need much Character variation, something like WoW's choices would do (Molecule thinly veiled attack on WoW) you could have crash landed in the Nevada desert in 1950's USA and have to colonize this new land. 40 man probe raid!!!
Okay, sorry, the OP kind of threw my brain out the window. I wouldnt mind seeing some kind of diversity like in the Half-Life Mod Natural Selection, the Kharaa really have some drastic choices in its lifeforms. Or perhaps some kind of Evolution based character development, you start off as a single cell blob, and as you absorb more organisms you evolve and develop into a wholy new lifeform. I guess it depends on what kind of MMO the base type would best fit in. While its not too difficult to image an amorphous blob <strike>playing</strike> character in WoW it just wouldnt fit the lore of the game, and by the same token, in a post apoc Modern day Earth MMO, having Dwarves (Dwarfs? Dorfs? Stunties?) or Elves isnt really going to gel well with the games universe.
Id like to see a game that takes the Monsters side, you play as a mythical beast monster (Greek/Norse/Oriental mytholigcal creatures) and your enemy are rampaging heroes of Mankind out to make a name for themselves by looting your Labyrinth, or slaying your Hydra mate. Joining in bands to stop the heroes from accomplishing their acts, and forever erasing their names from history, and cementing your own as the victorious. As you grow in prominence, more heroes will come to kill you, serving as the learning curve, and allowing you to stockpile many a great and magical weapon to your arsenal. Could be fun.
