Skipping sound issue.

When I play lotro and finish one of those main story/ book chapters the game cuts away to that screen with the big ring and inside it theres a ingame cinematic with a narrator. My issue is the darn sound is skipping and I'm basically missing everything this guy is saying... Is there a way to set sub titles to that window? I think the issue is due to an old realtek card and I hate that I'm missing out on that narration.

Hmmm...that's a good question.  Not sure if there are subtitles available or not.  Sucks because that does help explain what leads to the next adventures you will have in the chapter : /

Haven't had that problem myself.  Wish I had some helpful info on it for you though.

Not sure about subtitles or anything, but try installing the drivers from realtek instead of the windows ones, i had a similar problem once and that fixed it. Could also try to play with the soundsettings a bit, if you have hardware acceleration running disable that.

I've had that happen before. But it's all fixed now. I suspect it's a driver issue of some sort or that something is not up to date on your machine.

but I know exactly what you are talking about. After a while it seemed to "fix itself" so I assumed I updtaed something that helped the situation.

Alright I'll check for a driver update when I get home frm work. I'm surprised they don't have a subtitle option for the hearing impaired. It's kinda annoying just watching the video without narration.

You can replay the movies that you've unlocked from the character selection screen.  Maybe the problem won't repeat itself there?

Completely offtopic Rockgod, but I was wondering how far are you and your wife are into the game?  Was just curious.

I shipped the wife off to guild wars lol. My original guardian was 32 but I decided to delete and start over so I'm In my mid twenties on my guardian now. I was rushing before so I found myself having to go back to earlier areas to mine and do missed Deeds. I'm trying to complete all my deeds and keep my metal smithing on par with my leveling this time. Kinda get the whole experience.

Cool, cool, yeah those deeds really are nice when you start stacking them up. Well...most of them anyways. Heh, although since you get tp for them now I suppose that makes them all cool now. :)

Okay I'm done going offtopic.  Just really bored at work XD

If by chance you are still using Windows XP you can also try lowering Hardware Acceleration a couple notches. Had issues like this in the past, though I would check the drivers first as well. If you have Vista or 7 disregard this post  ;)
