Well, actually it IS their fault, they hire their customer reps and train them. And it isn't "completely off from the game". You have a problem when playing WoW.. say with a game bug or harrasment, you contact customer support. If customer support is terrible, your game experience is going to be ruined. You can't seperate the game and the support, they're a part of the game and if they give you problems, the game by extension gives you problems.

Try dealing with the SOE Technical staff, they're the worst I've ever delt with. The ones you can talk with know nothing, they use a Database of problems and just keep telling you the simple answers again and again until you give up trying.
They wouldn't tell me which ports to get unblocked on my router so that I could log into the launchpad. Their answer was "We don't support fire walls". There was nothing I could do, I don't run the network.

I think that WoW's customer service is horrible. If I petition a GM, they come back with generic answers that seem to be from a pre-composed script. For example, my guild was having lock out problems from Molten Core, where not all of our members would get the same instance ID and we'd be separated. We'd petition a GM, and we'd get a response back saying we should remove our UI's and try again. Then if you read on the Raid and Dungeons forums, a blizzard community manager states that it is a known bug on the servers and Blizzard is working to fix it. It seems as if the GM's are not paid to think for themselves and provide any real sort of trouble shooting, but rather follow a script of question and answer, and hope the generic answer is correct. I never had to use their phone support, so I don't know exactly how competent the people are that answer the phones. I can only assume that it is just as bad.
As far as the game itself, I think it's one of the best MMORPG's released to date. If you ignore the server issues, and network latency problems. The ammount of content released with the game, and the amount being added every patch is wonderful, and more than any MMORPG before it. I look forward to each and every patch, and hope that my Hunter gets some love.

Let me ask you this. If you were a customer service rep(possible the employees that get blamed the most for everything) and were un able to answer the requests of over one million people immidiatly, does that make you bad at your job?

Even further more try thinking of WoW as the hottest, biggest club in America, customer service as your waitress, server issues as the bouncer and Blizzard as the club owner.
Now if you can't get pass the bouncer to get in do you flame the club? No of course not. Because you know that's the happening spot. Now if you get in and you get a rude azz waitress do you blame the club? Nope. What can the club do about that? Nothing. You ask to talk to the club owner and let them know about the dick at the front door and the snobby azz waitress and hopes he can straighten them out or you're gonna take your business else where. Does that make the club any less appealing to the masses who don't have a problem with the bouncer or one of the waitresses? Nope. Think about it.

My computer crashes about 1 out of 3 times when ever I turn in a mission.
I wrote a ticket .. three days later got an answer to remove the interface folder.
I wrote them back telling them that my problem started before I ever installed cosmos. (but I did go ahead and remove cosmos just so I was sure I knew what I was talking about).
Another 2 days later I receive a reply saying I should upgrade my graphics driver.
I wrote them back telling them I had already updated my graphics drivers and flashed my bios and updated pretty much everything that I could think of when I started seeing the problem occur.
They never wrote me back ... that was my only contact with customer support. I gave up after that.
BTW ... while I am on the subject, anyone else have that problem ? .. and if so did you find a way to fix it ?

I started having that problem last night. Im not sure what is causing it but hopefully the sever maintenance taking place today would fix it. I also get a 3-5 sec freeze every time i enter a city and im running a pretty nice computer (amd 64 3200+ 1 gig of ram and an X800xl).

Yeah, it really is. Blizzard could hire good and more customer service reps rather than a few that aren't any good. You don't know much, do you?

Har.. Try L2 GMs who barely speak English and have no clue whatsoever about how the game worked, or what the current issues were, or how to fix them.
WoW support isn't any faster that in other games, but I've been at least quite satisfied with level of service I've gotten and how my problems have been handled so far. Nothing to complain there.
