I don't get this, they're supposed to be galaxy travelers, but they wield melee weapons and use magic. It appears to be a generic Korean fantasy MMO, but the armor design is bit more "futuristic".

Warhammer 40k is as futuristic as you can get and still they use swords and chainsaws.
but that's besides the point
Never liked Koeran or Asian games for that matter they are all the same have you played one then you have played all of em.

I'm not familiar with that either, but it sounds silly to me. Even Anarchy Online, which I used to play, had swords and axes and then they added that horrible shadowlands expansion, with orcs, elves, dragons, witches and golems (with replaced names) and the keeper profession, which is just a paladin (big ass sword, knight armor, auras).
What I mean is, there's enough fantasy out there, but even the few sci-fi/future/cyberpunk alternatives are tainted by the fantasy curse.

You will probably still see alot of melee stuff in sci-fi/future games that are not spaceship/vehicle only based because of the headache of getting twitch based fps type combat to work without major lag in a mmo setting.

What don't you get? That the game doesn't have a specific setting? Is it either sword and sorcery or guns and robots? No, it doesn't work like that. It looks rather interesting tbh. There are already a couple hundred MMOs with the generic setting and a few more on their way. If anything, seeing something different isn't bad at all now, is it?

Obviously it doesn't work like that, otherwise there wouldn't be such silly patchwork settings. It's mindboggling that they can travel the universe but haven't figured how to build a projectile shooting weapon.

And what exactly is wrong about that? Oh yes, it doesn't make sense.
Star wars: Guns and lightsabers, I mean they got plasma guns there and still using swords? It's not logical!!!!!!!!1one1!

Perhaps wise to actually watch the trailer??
He doesn't want to watch it probably cause then he would be proved wrong. Go figure.

I did. I saw staves, swords and magic. I didn't see any guns. Not that throwing a couple of guns in a sword and cape on space would make that much of a difference anyway. Consistent sci-fi settings are a rarity in this genre.

Let me guess, you closed your eyes when the guns appeared so you could still go on arguing? And as I said what about star wars where they have twice the technology and still using swords, does that mean the IP is sucky? Not even close. People like you tend to complain on everything, I mean seriously what's your next complaint? "This game is too good to be played!!"

Guess what, it doesn't have to be.
Exactly, it's not logical. It's not consistent. I'm sick and tired of elves and orcs, swords and magic. Putting all this stuff in a space setting changes nothing.
Well, you can have fantasy elements in your scifi; Star Wars does it for a very long time for example, but it should appear to make sense in your setting of course.
This looks like its standard fare with nicer graphics, the classes do appear a bit too much like their fantasy equivalents to appeal to me as well tbh. Gamplay also looks classic.
But it could be fun if they make the content interesting and varied or if they nail PvP.
Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

Like I said, throwing a couple of guns there wouldn't solve anything. I missed the guns the first time I watched the video because they appear in two brief flashes at the start, while most of it is swords and axes and daggers everywhere. Obviously there's something very wrong with their guns since they find use for primitive weapons.
And I've never been a Star Wars fan, so forgive me if I don't buy the "Star Wars did it, so it's OK" argument.

The use of melee weapons in space makes sense. Bullets and lasers put holes in metal walls, floors, ceilings and ship skins.
"I used to think the worst thing in life was to be all alone. It's not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone." Robin Williams
Gotta love kids writing game reviews, they tend to get a little carried away.
Graphics look decent, hard to tell about the gameplay from a trailer. Korean games designed for their market, just don't do that well over there. They like the grind and item shops, neither of which are desirable for a western gamer. So I will hardly get excited about this game.
Another point, Tabular Rasa, a similar sci fi game, failed to attract enough of an audience to make it profitable.

There are no ships in this game, so what is the point of your post????
That there is a use for melee weapons in these futures and that I don't care about this game enough to spend 60 seconds to watch some video of it.

I'm with vajrav on this, it really does just look like a sword and sorcery MMO but with the graphics and sound swapped for those of a sci fi game. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, genre mash-ups are often great!

When is this game released?
