You know I never actively flame a person for their views, but you somehow think your opinion is more important then everyone elses. Every single thread you make is pure flamebait and WoW ***-sucking. You are the biggest effing fanboy. Get over yourself.

This is a question that really does not have an answer. The true answer is... They all are the best.

It depends on the player. Each player will have his own opinion of which game is best. For me, it used to be Everquest. Now, it is Everquest II. I liked DAoC for awhile, but it lost its appeal for me after a time. I did give WoW a try, but it just wasn't for me. I tried Horizons and it was not for me either, although I was a Horizons fanboi at one time, but by the time the game hit the market it had changed so much from what the community had envisioned that it didn't seem fun. I gave AC2 a try and it didn't hold my interest. I tried Anarchy Online and was soon bored. I had hoped to try Wish, it looked really good at E3, but it cancelled before it came to release.

Lord of the Rings Online, (Middle Earth Online) is sounding very promising. I am a LotR fan so I am really looking forward to this game, but it is a year in the future right now.

So, the question which game is the best cannot really be answered. The question should be, which game do you like to play the best.

It's just me, so open the door.

I liek DAoc the best now. But I voted for SWG because it kept my interest longer then WoW did.

WoW was just kinda boring. Not allot of choices in the type of toon you can play. A long wait while to log in. Its all one big carton world. I didn't really have the feel that I stumbled on to a hidden dugeon or anything.

I didn't liek player mounts even if it took allot playing to get them.

Also for the crafting you have to run around and find stuff which is fine like in SWG. But in SWG if you find stusff you build a mine there and get a whole bunch for later. I don't just seemed like a bigger pain then it was worth. DAoC isn't much better you just buy all the ingredients but there needs to be better middle ground.

Most importatnly there just doen't seem to be a great end game. the group dymics just aren't the same as they are in daoc. That the problem I had with SWG too. We would go on a raid to the tusken city and everone would just do the same thig shoot at everything that moved and until everything was dead.

Shadowbane There is nothing better. Ya sure its not eye catching as many of the sure but i dont think that is that importent..

    Err
SWG graphics: Just as good, if not better
SWG has more variety of things to do
    SWG has better roleplay
    SWG has better quests
    SWG has better customer service
SWG has better PVP :) (well ok maybe not, I haven't played WOW since the stress tests, but SWG's PvP is excellent).

I'd have to say SWG is better than WOW. IMO it's the best MMO currently on the market. Especially if you're a roleplayer.

For your information EQ2 is 15 bucks a month, same a WoW.  This has to be the stupidest post ive ever read.  Have even played EQ or EQ2? I admit WoW is a great game, but its server instability and lack of mature smart community make it into a huge pile of crap. It is my opinion that people like you ruin good games. Plus it runs out of content at around level 55, other than that it is a good game when played casually. (60 mage on whisperwind). I also admit EQ and EQ2 are great games as well.  Lets keep these posts constructive, because nobody wants to hear someone smash a game they probably have never played.

    Nuff Said

EDIT -- Oh yea, i forgot to add that my favorite game of all time was the original EQ.  Kept my attention for 5 years, while all other MMOs i have played cant for more than 3 months.

--Nyture, Arc Convoker of fironia vie server (EQ) --Retired--
-- Nytur 39 Conjuror of Lucan D'lere (Quit due to low populations)
-- Currently playing WoW while waiting for vanguard
    Explorer 66%
    Socializer 60%
    Killer 53%
    Achiever 20%

PLEASE SOE MAKE A CLASSIC EQ SERVER. Shadow of luclin was a prick in EQs side. PoP Was a gun to the face.

How is EVE doing so well in this poll? Is it a game you need to play for a few months before it gets good? Because I played the 7 day trial for all 7 days and I didn't even see potential... I never played WoW, so I don't know about that... I did like SWG though... so I voted for that.

For this poll to be completely accurate you would need every voter to have played every game, so a lot of people (like me) can only vote on what they've played... it's obvious, but still...

Anyway, I still don't get why (apperantly) soo many people like EVE... go figure...

swg i think, daoc distant second.

wow is fun, but nothing to it. crafting you can max in 2 days. lvl, 2-3 weeks for semi-hardcore player. dishonor system did nothing but drive some of the players away.

matrix, well it has more promise than i expected. still they got to add alot to it for it to be up near the top, right now mission/identical mission/ so on and so forth , with a random live event through in every couple days which is a nice twist, but not enough.

i know swg had major problems and i wont play it again, but i love a game wehre i can play for 40 hours and not kill a single thing if i chose to.

    Sheesh, I have my favorites.

    1. AO or FFXI --> both games have enough difficulty level to keep you guessing but not so much that you feel intimidated(I might've been the only casual player to "get past" the grinding aspects of FFXI).
    2. DAoC --> It gets better and better pve wise. RvR is always fun. Its also really fun if you take your time to enjoy all the different aspects about it.
    3. Old EQL --> my first MMO, nuff said :P

Honestly, I didn't "like" WoW. It just lacks any longevity that older MMOs have. In fact, almost most newer games don't have that longevity factor. I was bouncing around between all the newer MMOs but finally landed on AO and can't understand why I skipped over this one.

C'mon people. We need more to cast in their vote. Surely all you fairies and elves aren't going to let EVE Online win ::::18::

I really think IMO that DAOC is the best because i love pvp and I personaly think that DAOC has the best pvp out, and yes i am counting rvr as pvp.

Have you all forgotten about Ultima Online?!? Without  Lord British's dream of an online world, MMO's would not have been created or at least taken another few years for the first one. It might be old, but why fix somthing that is not brokn? Ultima Online will live forever!.....or untill EA wants to kill it some more.

without a doubt, WoW is the best mmorpg. the economy is very good, there are many, many races and classes, the graphics are superb. there is only one bad thing about WoW, and that is the performance. Sometimes the server just lags very much. But the rest is superb.

I voted L2 and here is why.  Out of the games listed on that poll, L2 is the best (out of the ones I have played).  The grind is long aand hard but it is rewarding when it is done.  Castle sieges are fun as hell to do.  The graphics and sound is VERY well done.  Also there are many different classes to play.

The downfalls are there is alot of grieving and farmers.  The grind doesn't mesh well with the drop ratio.  Customer service is better than WoW but is rather poor non the less.  The quests are dull and ill rewarded.

I didn't choose WoW because that game is crap.  Took me a week and a half to cap and do most of the content.  The community is horrible and the PvP is stacked and repetitive.  Fun for a week...waste of money overall.

EQ2 is ok if you like non PvP RP.  I tried it, but it just wasn't for me.  I found it to be boring IMO.

Is L2 my fav MMORPG?  No.

Is L2 the best one on that list?  That I have played yes.

    I have to say EVE-ONLINE,.

I didnt play WOW on my system,. but the strange thing is I know 6 ppl that play and its there first MMORPG an they love it,. only thing is everyone well 95% of the time love the first MMORPG  they play.

As far as EVE-ONLINE in second place,. you have to give them a credit,. I live in canada an eve is not in stores anywhere ,. BEST BUY/ FUTURE SHOP /WALLMART everyone i know just downloaded it,.

So for a game thats not seen in stores that much can sure keep up with a spammed game in the stores like WOW.Allso EVE only has one server probly not the best conection for alot of places in the world.

EVE-online has allways had more players in the same world than WOW,.

But i didnt sitt down an play WOW so i cant say nothing,. all i can say is basic facts.

AN yes i will try guild wars,. i read alot of good things about it.
