    No...

Hahaha Im having a serious troll mood....

I think I actually spent way more time reading and theorycrafting about MMOs than playing them

Since the game is so "story" involved, do I need to go see them or will the game be enough to understand what's going on?

There is a test when you first log on. You are asked questions about Star Wars. If you don't know the answers, you can't log on.

LOL, Ok, after responding to another post I needed a laugh and this actually did that which isn't easy to do so thank you lol.

Laugh if you want to, but you better start studying your Star Wars lore if you want to play this game.

Do you know what the home planet of Wookies is? Do you know how to spell it properly?

    No? No game for you!

What is the favored weapon of both Sith and Jedi?

    A) Blaster

    B) Abyssal Whip

    C) Rubber Chicken

    D) Lightsaber

    E) Repurposed Gnome

    OH NO!!!!!!

You're absolutely right. I spelled Wookiee wrong so I deleted my email from the Open Beta list and will now focus only on GW2 lol

I don't see why not.  I didn't get interested in Warcraft or even really know it existed before I played WoW.  TOR could spark an interest and make people interested in Star Wars.

honestly you'd probably enjoy it more if you didn't.

its like those Marvel movies they keep coming out with, to me they are complete garbage, specially that Wolverine one. and its because i use to read those comics when i was younger and i know how badly Marvel is fucking the story and characters up(really..that was suppose to be Deadpool in that Wolverine movie) but if i hadn't read comics when i was a kid i probably would have enjoyed the movies.

If you can't enjoy this game without being a Star Wars nerd, Bioware is sunk.

as i said in another thread, this isn't so much a starwars MMO, is at is a knights of the old republic game thats online.

they might add a few references to items or places from the other old republic games, maybe even an easter egg or two from the movies. but i cant imagine they'll fill it with lore or references to something that happens 1000 years or so in the future. theres just no reason for it. as others have said before, you might want to play the KOTOR games. but thats about it.

    Played
WoW, DCU online, star wars: the old republic, city of heroes, city of villains, everquest, plenty more I'm probably forgetting or aren't worth noting.

If you more or less know what "the force", "Jedi", "Sith" and "lightsabers" are, you're ready to go.

You could also watch the timelines to get a better idea of the setting of the game.

Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!

    The better question is...

How do you find yourself at a website like this and have never seen Star Wars?

No, but Star Wars is a good action/drama (read: NOT SciFi) series, and the game will be more satisfying when you're presented with references to the original Star Wars movies.

    I can't see why you'd skip them...
